Re: Let's Play Final Fantasy IV
- Part 14: World Travelers:
Alright
Alright, so it looks like I'm flying this time, which may or may not be a bad thing considering I have never operated a cross between a helicoptor and a ship. But I bet it's easier than learning how to drive stick on a sports car.
But first, Lief said that the shops can also be unlocked with the Baron Key. So I'll land and investigate.
*enters the castle instead by mistake and finds that the guards have abandoned their post and have this to say*
"I can't believe the king had been replaced by a monster..."
I see other people in the castle now so I'll go ahead and ask around.
"I can hear the voice of the late king echoing from below. Could this castle be...haunted?"
"What happened to the king is tragic..."
"The soldiers of Golbez's army were all mosnters. There were no humans among his followers."
"We will guard Baron with our lives, sir."
"We must avenge the king!"
"Sir Cecil for king!"
"I should have acted sooner to stop the king..."
"I failed to protect the king. I cannot face Master Kain."
"On our honor, we dragoons will protect the castle."
Interesting. Not only the twins still here. But when I try to interact with them, it opens my menu. This hints to me that they will make a return. On with my tour of the castle!
"Never again will monsters rule over this castle."
"I just hope we don't have to imprison people anymore."
"Captain!? I didn't recognize you!"
"It's good to see you again, Captain!"
"You are the only one who can fill in for the king!"
"If only we had airships!"
"Golbez took the Red Wings!"
"Piggy! !? Oops!"
I do believe much more than a mere apology is required here before I behead you.
*talking to him again fixes my problem and I don't have to behead him today*
"How could I not see that the king was replaced by a monster? I require much more training..."
"So, Meteor exists after all!"
"I pray that the king may rest in peace."
"We will support the soldiers with our white magic."
"I can't believe a monster was impersonating the king..."
"Boss! Is that you!? What are you doing here? I-I better get back to work."
"Boss! You're alive!
This is the East Tower. For some reason, I apparently haven't been here before.
From left to right, the chests contain Bacchus's Cider, Hermes' Shoes, Bacchus's Cider, Herme's Shoes.
*heads to B1 first*
*finds an Elixir in a pot*
This is B2 of the east tower and interestingly, there's a throne room down here. And someone's taking to me. I suspect it's connected to the rumor that the Castle is haunted.
Cecil: Your Majesty!?
Ghost King: Venture to the Land of Summons before you return. I shall help you then.
Cecil: Yes, Your Majesty.
Very interesting... Perhaps this story isn't as complete as I feared. So now I have two tasks. Retrieve the last Crystal and find the Land of Summons... Hmm...
*heads to the Second Floor*
*finds two Hi-Potions*
*finds the third floor to be just storage and collects an Ether, and two Tents*
Alright, so that's the entire castle fully explored. As before, I now have a second task. At the end of the last part, I had thought the King had survived, but as Lief said in his battle primer, the King was slain in battle. However his ghost remains here as apparently he has a vital task for me. Also from what I can tell, the soldiers and guards want me to be the next King. Which is fine I suppose as long as I assume those duties after this whole Golbez mess is straightened up and I don't have to do them for Cecil. More worrying is that Baron apparently no longer has an air force, meaning that Golbez took all the airships. Well except for one.
*heads into town*
"Sir Cecil! Please avenge the king!"
"Are you that dark knight from before? How you've changed!"
"It appears the Mysidians have removed the seal."
He's referring to Devil's Road.
"What will become of Baron now? The king left no heir."
*enters the weapons shop and finds to my delight Thunder Rods and Thunder Claws*
Over in the Armor section is the Twist Headban for 450 Gil. It weakens everyone, except Cid. So I'll get it for him. Next is Kenpogi. It's favored by Martial Artists and improves everyone except Cecil. Catch is that it's pricy at 4000. I do have 16792 gil, so I can afford it, but it'll run me down pretty far. Finally is the Silver Armlet, which will improve Yang.
*finds that Cid is Right handed, is holding a Wooden Hammer, has stock 55 ATK and 13 DEF, plus whatever that third stat is (Lief, please tell me what that is so I can call it by it's proper name, I don't believe you've covered it yet in your sides) 1*
Equipping the Twist Headband increases all stats by one. And also prevents confusion. Kenpogi increases ATK and third stat by one, but defense goes up to 18. I say those are money well spent. Also apparently he can't equip the armlet.
Anyway, replacing Tellah's Healing Staff gives him 15 attack as opposed to 13, so I'll make that trade for the moment. Kenpogi works a little definitely on him though. While Attack raises by one and Defense raises by two, the third stat decreases by one. Since I don't know what the third stat does yet, I'll go ahead and make that trade off.
Over at Yang, the Silver Ring improves DEF to 20 and the third Stat to 8, both going up by two. The Kenpogi increases ATK by one to 46, DEF by three to 23, third stat by one to 9. Also apparently I can equip two claws at once so I'll give him both the Ice Claw and the Thunder Claw, which Ice on his Right.
I was about to sell the Prisoners' Wear that Cid was holding, but it prevents sleep so now I'm holding onto those for the moment. But I'm selling Leather Garb again. I also now have Gaia Gear in my bag, from Tellah. I will hold onto that for the mean time.
*heads back out on the Streets*
"I knew it! You're Sir Cecil! Go beat up Golbez! Make him pay!"
Cid's Daughter: Dad! I was worried sick! Everyone, I know he's a handful, but please look after him for me.
"You used to be dressed up as a bad guy, but now you look like a good guy!"
"Thanks to you, sir, the people look much livelier. Okay, back to work!"
"Cecil, would you like a drink? My treat!"
*gets nothing from the bar tender*
*decides to head to Mysidia via Devil's Road now that I've explored Baron, just to see if anything has there changed*
Elder: ...I see. Palom, Porom... I am proud of them both.
And that's pretty much it for those guys. Now there's one more place I want to visit...
*boards the airship*
The Village of Mist.
So the village is still inhabited...
"Has the history of the summoners of Mist come to an end...?"
"It is rumored that a summon mighty enough to kill with a single blow rest beneath the ground of Baron."
Let that sink in for a moment. And that's all I'll say for now on that subject
Also while I was looking for a picture for that moment, I came across two series of interest. Pretty Face (Semi-Gender Bender) and Nadia: The Secret of Blue Water. I find the second much more interguing. It's also apparently loaded with several tons of fan service. A higher level ecchi if you will.
*forces the train back on the tracks*
"Almost every living soul in Mist was killed by a great fire, which was caused by reason unknown."
*twing of guilt*
*finds an empty house and discovers a secret passage way in the fire place that leads to three chests*
*gets a Gold Hairpin, Clothes, and Ruby Ring*
I can't help but feel that these are Rydias... They are all equip items.
"The creatures called by summoners come from the Land of Summons, which exists deep underground."
*finds an armor shop and finds that it only sells Bard's Tunic*
*next door is a weapon shop selling the pricy whip and even pricier Dancing Dagger*
*stops next at Fabul*
Guards now say friendly welcoming things.
Yang's Wife: Oh, hon! You're alright!
Yang: I am fine, thanks to their help.
Yang's Wife: You guys are like my husband's guardian angels!
Yang: And you? Are you alright?
Yang's Wife: Yeah. Them Baron boxos ain't never comin' back! I gave 'em a helluva thumpin' with my non-stick frying pan!
*snicker*
So that conversation didn't change. Apart from the guards, really nothing has changed.
Oh what's this little place out here in the middle of nowhere? I was following the route that our ship took the best I could, but instead I found this.
Mythril? Is a sister village to Mysidia?
Woah, what have I found?
"Hoity-toity! Are you all giants?"
"Mr. Frog, Mr. Little, and I work to gather, refine, and process mythril to make armor and weapons."
"Myrthril Mountain lies far to the north. Although with your long legs, it'll take you much less time than it takes us!"
"Served!"
"Awesome!"
"Did you come to check out our dance routine? You won't be wasting your time!
Hey all, we're the Mythril Brothers! Are you ready to get your groove on? Let's do it!
*long thing later*
Yeah!"
Inside the Weapons shop is pricey Myrthril weapons. Interesting is the Mythril Hammer. The sword also will increase Cecil's attack.
Armor Shop offers Mythril armor that is extremely price but improves Cecil and Cid.
"I can't imagine how much you have to eat to fill up a body as big as yours."
"Having a beautiful daughter isn't easy, I tell you. I have to protect her from all the scum out there!"
"I'm the prettiest girl in this village! I'm so small that you can't tell? Then come closer and look!"
and that concludes my visit to Mythril. It's definitely a place I need to come back to when I have the money.
.....I think I just found Golbez's hideout.
*leaves without landing, but soon spots a destroyed castle on the same island and can't help but check it out*
Alright, let's have a look.
*eventually finds some Bacchus's Cider*
*finds a Bomb Core in a secret compartment*
*finds an Emergency Exit, Silver Hourglass, Hermes' Shoes, and an Hi-Potion in the East Tower*
*accidently stumbles into an Underground Passage*
*finds two Ethers and...*
Oops... Um... What are you guys weak to?
*they quick destroy Tellah with a single blow and deal heavy hits*
Oh fuck... Worst part is that I don't think I have a good save point either....
*finds that these guys pack 2000 HP*
*loses and accidentally hits F2 instead of F4 on the title screen, losing my save file*
Umm.... Well...

Welp.
The third stat should be magic defense, if we're thinking of the same thing.

Re: Let's Play Final Fantasy IV
- Part 15: Reboot:
Well, believe it or not, I have powered my way back through the game. Granted it's taken my eleven hours of real world time to do so (that's including time spent goofing off), but I'm here, right after the proposal for the crystal exchange.
I suppose this time I'll just head Northwest, after I equip Cid with Armor.
*equips a Feathered Cap and a Ruby Ring, giving Cid 55 ATK, 15 DEF, and 7 MAG DEF*
Alright, this place wasn't too difficult to find. I actually overshot it bit, having decided to turn around to investigate around a lake and found right on the shores was a castle and this town.
I suppose the first thing to do is explore.
"Welcome to Troia, the city where trees and water abound!"
So I found the town's pervert. He says "Shoo! Go find your own place!" when you speak to him.
*goes to speak to the girls*
"Oh, for Pete's sake... Why are you swimming in your armor? It'll rust!"
"Would you like to join us for a swim?"
*eventually finds my way to a girl hidden in a remote spot of town*
"Have you heard of the Twin Harp? I hear you can transmit your voice really far with it."
*finds Decoy and an Ether hidden nearby in the bushes*
A farm?
"Thanks to the ample water supply here, we can grow fresh vegetables and even raise chocobos."
*opens a secret door and goes down into the basement*
Now while I was replaying the game, I discovered a Chocobo forest near Baron. This forest holds two varities of Chocobos. One is yellow and is ridable in the overworld, but flees when dismounted. The other is white and restores MP.
A newspaper article on the wall: New Breed of Chocobo Discovered! Amazing "black chocobos" set to revolutionize transportation!
"I want to ride a black chocobo and fly! But I don't think they like me.. They greak out when I try to get close."
"Chocobos are real cute! They smell a little, though."
"These black chocobos can't fly for some reason. But the ones living in the northern Chocobo Village can fly at a low altitude, though I hear they can only land in the forest."
Sounds like a case of them being able to fly, but being unable to land in a controlled fashion.
*is shown a secret passage by that man when he wanders into it*
"Black chocobos can remember the way home. But they tend to run away after making a round trip."
*exits and talks to more civilian*
"Have you seen Grandpa? Where is that old codger!?"
"I took a silver strongbox to the northeast cavern, but in got stuck to the ground and I have to leave it behind."
*finds a crowded pub*
*discovers there's a membership, a very expensive membership*
*elects not to buy it for now since I appear to be allowed to roam the premeses*
"The air's good, the food's good... I love this place!"
"May I see your membership pass, please?"
*is not thrown out by this guy*
"Live a long life, I say. I'll take this place over heaven any day!"
"Yes! I finally got a good seat the counter!"
"Stellaaa! You're so beautiful! ...What!? ...You're a man...!?"
"The ladies here always look real fine!"
"Hey there, cutie! Chat with me for a while!"
"I'll take good care of you. ...What's with that look? You gotta problem with me!?"
"Give me a holler if you want something!"
*goes upstairs*
"I hope you carry a fat wallet, mister. It's all high rollers from here on, if you know what I mean."
"Bring me a fur coat next time, okay, sweetie?"
"Sure. I'll buy you anything you want!"
That seems to be a conversation between the two of them.
"Shoo! You don't belong here."
"That old geezer better not mess with my Jenny!"
"I have to make sure everyone gets what they ordered!"
"...And at that moment, I thrust my blade into the goblin and offed him once and for all!"
"That old geezer just keeps babbling about all his stupid adventures... If I have to hear one more story..."
*is unable to reach the last girl on the floor because terrain and the old man prevent me from reaching her*
So in addition to be being a pub, it's also a brothel.
*exits the pub*
"... Go away! Can't you see I'm sunbathing!?"
That reminds me of something a year or two ago on my way back from the library. I came across a young women sunbathing, with her bikini undone at the back and she was lying on her stomach.
*goes to the Castle now*
"Welcome to Troia Castle."
"Please make yourselves at home."
"You wish to know about the Crystal? Speak to the clerics inside the castle."
"The clerics are the solemn servants of the gods. Honor them and conduct yourselves properly, understood?"
"A Damcyan man drifted into Troia somehow. He claims he's a prince."
Lovely... I get Edward back here don't I...
"Troia has never been at war. I don't know how well we could fight to protect Troia if war breaks out..."
Hmm... Then there must be some other factor that prevents Golbez and Kain from coming here personally...
"I hear Baron is becoming more and more aggressive. I hope they don't attack us."
"Unlike most kingdoms, Troia is governed by women. Even the soldiers are female."
Don't tell me the reason the bad guys don't want to come is because they don't want to hurt the ladies.
"The clerics are convening in the chamber behind me."
"You want me to dance for you? As if! I'm a guard, not a dancer!"
"This armor lacks strength, but affords excellent mobility. It's also very fashionable!"
Don't worry, I'll leave now.
Three ways down? Hmm... I'll just go from left to right.
Hmm...
"Have the clerics granted you permission to enter?"
*truthfully says No*
"My, you're honest."
*finds cider in the center Dungeon*
I don't want to step on that button....
*goes to talk with the important people*
"Women make far more civilized rulers than men."
"The eight clerics are sisters."
I'm guessing this must be them.
*goes clockwise from the bottom left*
"We don't know what to do, The Dark Elf stole our Earth Crystal!"
"Equipping anything metallic inside the Northeast Cavern will hamper your movement, so keep that in mind."
"If you're looking for the Dark Elf, go to the cavern on the northeast island."
"Without the Crystal, Troia might become a wasteland again!"
"The Dark Elf is weak against metallic weapons. He has set up a magnetic field around the cavern for protection."
"If you can recover the Crystal, we will allow you to borrow it. Please speak to us once you obtain it."
"We will consider lending you the Earth Crystal if you can reclaim it."
"We have governed Troia for years with the blessing of the Earth Crystal, but now..."
So my next task is apparently go to the Northeast Cavern and recover the Crystal. Then more or less lie to these women about what the Crystal will be used for.
To my knowledge, most of my equipment is metal. Cecil is certainly wearing quite a bit of it. I don't think Edward is wearing any so he may be of some use.
Notice how Tellah is hanging back.
*Tellah rushes to the end of the bed*
Never mind.
Edward: Cecil...? You are alive... I am so relieved. I wish to join you again.
Tellah: You cannot help us in that condition, though. You'd only burden us!
Edward: Tellah... I can't begin to ask for your forgiveness. Anna died because of me...
Tellah: ...
Edward: I can never atone for that.
Yang: Edward, your health should be your greatest concern now. You should get your rest.
Edward: Yang... So we all survived... Where is Rydia?
Yang: ...
Edward: ...I see. I wish I had been there to help you out during your battles...
Cid: Hey, I heard you took mighty good care of Cecil and Rosa! I appreciate it! Let me repay you. With me and my Enterprise, we can rise above anything!
Edward: You must be Cid, the airship engineer. ...Wait! Does this mean we have an airship!? Cecil, whatever became of Rosa!?
Cecil: Golbez proposed a trade. He will return Rosa in return for Troia's Crystal. But the Crystal lies in the hands of the Dark Elf.
Edward: The Dark Elf... Cecil, you must take this. What is it? This is the only way I can be of any help right now.
*recieves the Twin Harp*
Something glitchy occured on the bottom of the screen...
Edward: Cecil, please save Rosa.
The Twin Harp... Where did he get that? Also his regular harp (which should be the Lamia Harp IIRC) is on the floor over there next to the doctors.
"He requires much rest. He is quite frail, which explains his slow recovery."
"We are attending to the prince around the clock. Me? I'm the nurse. She's the doctor."
*plucks up the courage to visit the dungeons again*
"Don't lie to me!"
Stepping on the button opens one door. Stepping on it again opens another door and so on. Each room contained two of an item. From left to right was Tent, Hi-Potion, Ether, and Ruby Ring.
*gets back in the airship and starts flying North*
I was considering landing here. But I kept going a little bit further and guess what I found...
Golbez's hideout. So I would've been fucked by the same castle, twice. As the last time I encounted this area I was traveling South, this tells me that the world is round.
I'm guessing this cave is where I need to be.
*has trouble finding a landing spot and eventually lands on the Eastern Shore of the island*
So this island has these monsters... Though like most plants, they are flammable.
*Cecil levels up to Level 15 and learns Cura and Yang levels up to Level 20*
*decides to return to Baron to pick up a Fire Claw*
It just occurred to me the exact same thing preventing me from landing here, the forest, is the clue to getting on the island. Supposedly Black Chocobos are able to land only on forests. So apparently I need to get a Black Chocobo and use it to get to the island. But the ones at Troia are unable to fly, so I must get one from Chocobo Village.
Now had I not replayed and discovered the Chocobo grotto near Baron, I would've been looking for a village from the air. I'm still gonna look a bit, but I think I must hike through the forest get reach it.
And that looks like it. I won't even try landing, I'll just head back to Troia and hike.
Greetings!
We're flying and Cid's probably hating every second of it because it's not Enterprise.
So let's see how badly I am impaired.
Cid: That magnetic field is powerful is powerful! Equipping anything metallic will slow us down.
Yang: My claws appear to be unaffected.
Tellah: Fear not! We stand invincible with my magic!
Oh lovely... So Yang, Tellah, and Cecil are all carrying metal of some kind and are thus out of action because the game considers them paralyzied.
I'll try to fight the Orges with just Cid, but I may end up running.
*loses instead when Cid falls even though the others are alive*
Okay.......... Well... Okay. I wasn't expectin that.
So I'll start by removing Tellah's Gaia Gear and abuse my F2 and F4 buttons until things are sasifiacory.
I succeeded in getting Tellah to be able to fight by removing his Gaia Gear and Silver Armlet, but this resulted in him now having both defense stats at 5. So now he takes a massive beating from the Ogres.
Removing Yang's metal involves removing his Silver Armlet and dropping his DEF by 4 to 20 and his SP DEF by 4 to 5.
Cecil, unfortuately is wearing nothing but metal. Now I do have some Holy Arrows (which I'm guessing work well on Orges as they are weak to Holy), but I don't have anything to fire them so I need to go get something. I know Mysidia has Crossbows so I'll travel there to pick one up. I'll also outfit some non-metal armor to my party.
First thing I'll equip is Ruby Rings, these offer no DEF, but they do increase SP DEF by three. Yang gets one, and for the time being, so does Tellah.
Cecil's Crossbow and Holy Arrows leave his attack at 24. Stripping him of his armor also leaves him with 0 SP DEF and 8 DEF. Giving him a Wizard's Hat boosts that to 5 and 11 respectively.
Heading back to Baron, I picked up Kenpogi for Cecil. Now Tellah and Cid also can equip this expensive Armor. I can afford two more, but it drains of me cash.
*decides to buy two more and then grind for a while to build up cash*
Kenpogi gives 5 DEF and 3 SP DEF to Cecil; 1 ATK, 4 DEF, and 1 SP DEF to Cid; 1 ATK, 5 DEF, and 2 SP DEF to Tellah.
*requips my normal equipment to grind*
For my grinding trip, I'm going to walk to Mist to get another Ruby Ring for Cecil. There's one in Rydia's house. Naturally I'll have to walk all the way back to get back on Enterprise. Now I'm not expecting a whole lot of cash while doing this, but hopefully it's better than nothing.
Now since I highly doubt you guys are keeping track of my inventory (not that's it's the same now anyway), I'm gonna do this grinding all off camera.
I may or may not walk around Troia after returning from Mist. At some point I will stop grinding and resume this.

The Gaia Gear isn't a magnet equip, as well as the Kenpogi and Yang's claws and Tellah's stuff. Also why is Tellah in the front and Cid in the back that's like the opposite of productivity
Being Magnetized(TM) is exactly like being paralyzed, except you're also considered dead by the game. This is why when Cid fell, it was a Game Over. All of the equipment in Troia is unaffected by magnetism, meaning that it's a crash course in why you don't want to use bows ever.
This also sadly renders the Mythril Equipment to be just a waste of money for right now. (Contrary to what TV Tropes says...or maybe it does work and the Final Fantasy Wiki is just wrong. They were the people who said that Scar.'s Zombie Form absorbed restorative attacks as per usual.)

Because Tellah had served well in the front previously. Why fix a system if it doesn't seem broke? As I continued to grind and discovered how much tougher the enemies are from this point on, I've already swapped Tellah and Cid.Lief Katano wrote:Also why is Tellah in the front and Cid in the back that's like the opposite of productivity

Re: Let's Play Final Fantasy IV
Well Tellah is a mage. (well okay sage but that's a type of mage)
Mages are squishy.
Being in the back reduces melee damage to the user.
Being in the back also reduces melee damage from the user, hence why Cid shouldn't be in the back row. All he does is attack, attack, attack, with the token free Libra.

I think it might've been in the e-manual for Final Fantasy III on the SNES/Wii Virtual Console. Or the training hall.

Is your library near a beach or something, or did you just see some girl in her back yard sunbathing?
Either way, you lucky devil you...

- Part 16: The Ruby Squad:
I originally meant to include a before shot in the previous update, but I forgot and don't really want to add this back in so I've tacted it onto the beginning of this update.
I found another room at Rydia's house, so I'm butting in for this.
Inside the chest is the Rod of Change.
"Rod infused with beastly rage."
Now I can equip this to Tellah and he'll gain 7 ATK, but I want to save it for Rydia... I don't want to lose it like Yang lost his claws.
*shifts over to a field near the mountains that seperate Troia and Baron and grinds lots of EXP and Gil*
I've made a lot of progress, I swear I have. But I'm not ready to stop grinding just yet and there are a couple reasons why.
The first is those blue monsters. They're called Hell Needles and they are a pain in the ass in this area. If you strike them with a physical attack, they retailiate with something called Needle which is rather strong. Right now I've set myself the goal of getting to the point where I can take those monsters out with one hit.
Second reason is that I'm somewhat greedy and I keep pouring cash on items almost as fast as I'm pulling it in. I've got about 20,000 gil right now, but I'll probably burn that through real quick.
Third reason is Tellah. How long I can grind between returns to Baron for cheap stays at the Inn depends on how long the weakest member of the party lasts. Naturally the old man isn't able to keep up with the monsters on the front lines, so I'm averaging only a few battles before having to head back in to top up his MP. So now the rest of the party has to pick up the slack. He's also absorbing what seems to be more than his fair share of punishment and so Cecil often haves to break from the fight to heal him. I've also been using Cecil as a medic after the battles. That all said said, Tellah still provides great support from the back lines.
So Cid gained 6 levels, Tellah gained 3, Cecil gained 10 levels, ang Yang gained 6. Now I just need to requip them with non-metallic stuff and head back into the cave. Only I don't quite remember what was good equips for them
I think Cid is good as is with his Wooden Hammer, Feathered Cap, Kenpogi, and Ruby Ring. He presently has 58 Attack, 22 Defense, and 8 Magicial Defense.
Tellah will go in with his Healing Staff, Wizard's Hat, Kenpogi, and a Ruby Ring. This gives Tellah 15 Attack, 9 Defense, and 10 Magicial Defense. Tellah's defensiveness does suffer quite a bit as a result of not having his usual Silver Armlet.
Cecil on the other hand is getting a major nerf. He loses all of his current stuff, including his sword, and has to make do with Holy Arrows, a Crossbow, Wizard's Hat, Kenpogi, and a Ruby Ring. He has to work with only 27 Attack, 20 Defense, and 10 Magicial Defense.
Yang will be rocking a Fire Claw, a Feathered Cap, Kenpogi, and a Ruby Ring. He has an ass whopping 62 Attack, 22 Defense, and 8 Magicial Defense.
What the fuck... Squid Wizards? SkyDoesMinecraft would probably be shitting bricks now.
*takes them out with a round from everyone on each*
Got a Hi-Potion from a chest next to where I fought these guys.
A normal monster for a change.
*later gets a potion from bats*
Found a Unicorn Horn next to the stairs down to the next level.
Cave Nagas are ugly.... :horrfied: Nothing like Lilith at all....
*Tellah levels up after the battle*
*gets an Ether from a chest shortly thereafter.
Looks like two bodies from those who have failed. Also an interesting door.
*finds 2000 gil in a chest in the next room*
*another chest has Ether*
*descends to B3*
*Yang levels up from fighting trolls*
Interesting Safe Room.
*rests after taking a heavy beating from some trolls*
*Cecil levels up later on in the floor*
Oh my god.... This is a bit of a tall order so I'll pull out the heavier duty spells.
*earns a Vampire Fang and gets exicited for a moment*
Oh it's just a spell item... Also I've only got two spots left in my inventory.
*Cid levels up in another battle*
*obtains a Fairy Claw from a chest*
For a moment I was fearing that I just had another spell item to get rid of, but it's actually an equip item for Yang. It apparently sometimes confuses the enemy.
It apparently does not affect his stats, but I'll equip it anyway.
Yay... The left chest has a Hi-Potion and the right one has a Hourglass. Most of you guys would probably never notice, but Lief probably will. I actually passed this room on purpose earlier because I thought it might be the boss chamber. Proceeding further made this unlikely so I returned.
WOW, Yang's Fairy Claw is raping these Trolls!
*obtains another Unicorn horn*
*finds another safe room*
This seems to be the likely boss room. In that chest over there, which I now wish I visited before healing, is... an Emergency Exit.
Perhaps it would be better to snag it on my way out... *hits F4*
What... Hmm... My suspsicions are growing...
"get the crysTAL. You canNOT deFEAT me with those weaPONS."
Me: MEND... FORT... SION... ER... TAL... NOT... FEAT... PONS... A code perhaps...
Yang: We shall see about that.
Tellah: Let's see how he likes my magic spells!
The Darkness has not been kind to him...
*attempts to Scan him, but comes up with nothing*
"Can you withSTAND this?"
*is hit with a sumilatinous barrage of Fira, Blizzardara, and Thundra*
Oh God... Now I'm nervious.
*gets hit with Tornado and Cecil begins wishing for his sword*
Oh this whole thing is scripted.
*Cecil falls*
Oh?
Edward: Cecil... And his friend...are in danger!
*Edward slowly trundels towards his Harp, but stumbles and falls*
Nurse or maybe it's the Doctor: Where are you going!? You're in no condition to move!
Edward: I'm fine. I just want to get my harp to... Agggh!
Maybe Nurse: Please! Get back in your bed!
Edward: *cough cough* I must...help them...
I'm curious how the Lamia Harp will help...
Oh?
Yang: ...?
Tellah: This melody...
Cecil: It's Edward!
Dark Elf: GAH! What is this torturOUS sound?
Why am I tripping? I didn't take any drugs....
*things return to normal*
Edward: He cannot control the magnetic field while I am playing! Now! Draw your sword!
*everyone stands up*
Cecil: Right!
So everyone can equip their best stuff now and they are healed.
*equips Cecil with his normal stuff, keeps Yang and Cid the same, and gives Tellah a Thunder Rod*
*notices the Crystal is shimmering*
I don't recall them doing that before.
Dark Elf: You... GAAAH!
Now we're doing damage. Cecil is able to really lay on the pressure now. And that OP attack from earlier is no longer an issue even though I didn't change the defensive power of most of my party.
"Say your prayers!"
Uh oh, now we could have a problem. I wish I had Dragon Slayer magic, then this would be so damn easy.
Ouch, his new attack, Dark Breath did some damage.
Oh it's over already? I guess I didn't need Dragon Slayer magic after all.... I was just about to heal up with Tellah's best healing spell. Also got 1500 EXP.
Dark Elf: This canNOT be! With the CrysTAL... my eterNAL life... GaaaAH!
Me: Trust me bro, eternal life generally sucks if you don't have any way to keep aging at bay. And most go insane and try to get rid of themselves before too long if they don't really have anything to do.
Cecil: Thank you, Edward.
*is now given control*
Hmm... Is now when I grab the Crystal and run?
Apparently so.
*grabs the Emergency Exit and uses it*
*Cecil levels up on the walk back to town cause I apparently didn't bring the Enterprise with me*
And that's where I'm calling this part!
