March 11 is the Pit Stop's birthday! In celebration of this milestone, we'll be holding the Fourth Annual Pit Stop Awards on that day. But, we've got to set them up first, so that's what this thread is for!

Here's the timeline:


  • Category Suggestions: February 18—February 25
  • Nominations: February 26—March 5
  • Voting: March 6—March 10
  • Results: March 11

Category suggestions will be taken in this thread from Feb. 18 to Feb. 25
Nominations for winners to each category will be taken in this thread or by PM to Caprizant from Feb. 26 to Mar. 5
Vote on the winners (see below for instructions) from Mar. 6 to Mar. 10
Results will be announced in a new thread Mar. 11

VOTING: You get three votes in each category. Your top pick is 3 points, second pick is 2 points, third pick is 1 point. You can vote for less than three options, but your first option will still count for 3 points.

To vote, send in your category-vote pairs to Caprizant by PM before the deadline at 3PM Eastern March 11. She'll tally them up and post the results by the end of that day.

Last year's categories are below for reference. (This year's categories are below that; I'm just keeping this section here for future reference.) Many of the categories could be kept, but some could be cut as well. Your opinions would be greatly appreciated. And don't forget to suggest new categories as well!

I'm gonna start with a few suggestions for removal and some suggested additions.

For Removal:


  • Best Ace Attorney (kind of a vaguely defined category)
  • Best Lost Legends Character (changed into another category below)
  • Best Troper (we don't really do this much anymore? up to you guys :V)
  • User You'd Most Like to See in a Canon Ship (idk, it's just kind of a strange category :B)


For Addition:


  • Best RP Character (to replace Best Lost Legends Character)
  • Best Blogger (split from Best Blog; last time, some people nominated blog posts and some people nominated users)
  • Best Fandom (because why not? :V)
  • Best Video (since we already have Best Picture)
  • Best Song (includes Post a Song, Video Game Music, and Anime Music)
  • Best Theme (I think we've had this before, but I thought it'd be nice to bring it back)

Let me know what you think, and please post some suggestions~ We have until February 25 for the categories!

Best Fandom seems like an...odd...category.

Mainly because it doesn't seem like something definable in Pit Stop terms. Fandoms are much larger than the Pit Stop.
