Greece's Animation Projects
Taking animation this year and I feel like sharing what pops out of this class.
Despite being called animation we've been messing around with photoshop from day 1. and day one wasn't that long ago so I only have a few things to post, so here;
Quality isn't top notch, but the original is at the school computer. This was our intro project where we were supposed to take a famous person and use photoshop's lasso tool and eye dropper tool to make a mosaic out of a picture. I kept it with a few cracks, but I could have smoothed it all over. Then we had to make a background with the pen tool (which should be burned and is the bane of my existence) My teacher said that background popped so
Eh, not much more to say on this.
I'll get the logo prpject next time I'm at class

Re: Greece's Animation Projects
Man, it took me longer than it should have to get this project.
OK, so this project was about using Illustrator's 'Pen Tool' to make a logo. I few idea for logos, I had a book, a CPU leaf, and other stuff. They just didn't turn out very well and I didn't have time to flesh them all out. So I went with this planet and a star, because it looked the best out of all of them. Though it still isn't the best, the star isn't symmetrical, and believe me I tried my best to make it so. After many frustrating attempts I just deiced to make half the star and mirror it. That did not give me the best result, but by that point I was low on time. Then I was informed that we needed to have text on our logo. So there's a hastily added 'A Carambola Production' at the bottom. (For those who don't know Carambola is a star fruit, and my teacher said my logo looked like a fruit). Unfortunately I made this picture to stand on it's own, so the text isn't the focal point which ,if this was to be on a business card, it should be. Also getting that text to bend was a pain, and it sucked. I also put this weird lines on the one I turned it. I have no idea why, they don't look too good.
And in the time it took me to get those files we did another project!
This was a simple flipbook project. We were told to take simple shapes and use a few basics of the illusion of live (Squish and stretch is the easiest one to see). So I deiced to use a triangle and a square for my animation. We only had 32 frames to work with, which made me sad because some parts are a bit more rushed and I had to change my ending a bit (I originally want to triangle to exit stage left, but I only had 3 frames left). We hand drew this on 32 pieces of paper and then we used phones to use the stop motion app to digitize the project. Though this required use to hold a phone and take pictures, so you can see my unsteady hand. We haven't done class critiques on this one yet, so I wonder what you guys think.

That's really cool! How much time do you get to make them and what programs do you use? Since I want to learn more animation things for my channel I wanna try to see how I'd do on the projects

Re: Greece's Animation Projects
The PBG one I created in adobe photoshop. We had 2-3 classes to complete it. Animation is a double credit class meaning it counts for 2 and is as long as 2 classes.
The Logo project was made in adobe illustrator. Another 2-3 classes.
The flipbook was made by taking four pieces of paper, folding them into 8th and cutting them. Then I used a pencil to draw the animation. Once we were done we used some stop motion app that can be used by phones in order to digitize the project.
pretty sure all of this is in the big block of text
but they're probably tl;dr

Re: Greece's Animation Projects
So we did some script writing by using Adobe Story, which is a free script writing thing you can sign up for. You guys will probably lose the formatting when I post it here, but meh.
I brain blurbed this entire script, so it's bad and has loose direction. My teacher said it was decent though, even though I forgot to add scene transitions and camera shots.
The other project we've done is our Green Screen project. Before we could act and record we had to set up the lighting so that there would be no shadows on the screen, or else it would be harder to change the background. After that we had to set up the camera's and tape the ground with the vision of the cameras so the actors new where to walk. Once we did all the acting we took the video footage and put it into Adobe After Effects. After Effects was used to put video clips together and change the green screen to a picture. Once that data was rendered we'd take the new footage and put it into Adobe Premier Pro. Here we added more video and vocal editing and added background music.
All the music I used is by Kevin MacLeod. If you guys want to exact songs I can find them for you.

- Think of this as a beginning too, as it does't really finish:
- EXT. FIELD - DAY
In a wide grassy field, a MAN WAKES UP and SITS UP. He LOOKS
around and STANDS UP.Having no idea where he is the man
starts to WALK around. He reaches he edge of the field and
LOOKS at the forest.
MR. TURTLE
Don't do it man.
The man turns around
MAN
Who's there?
(He looks around
confused)
MR. TURTLE
Down here man.
The man LOOKS DOWN and PICKS UP MR. TURTLE.
MR. TURTLE
Don't do it.
MAN
Don't do what?
MR. TURTLE
Woods aren't safe, don't do it.
(GESTURES to woods)
MAN
Why?
(He LOOKS BEHIND him
TOWARDS the woods)
The man LOOKS BACK to mr. turtle who has disappeared. The
man WALKS into the woods. There is a rustling from some of
the bushes. The man HIDES behind a tree. GIANT BEAR comes
out from the bushes. Giant bear SNIFFS and GRUNTS before
WALKING into some other bushes. After WAITING a few seconds,
the man RUNS in the opposite direction of the giant bear.
the man TRIPS over a log and ROLLS down a hill. He CRASHES
into a tree at the bottom of the hill. He COLLECTS himself
and SEES a DEER.
MAN
What do you want?
DEER
I want you to get out of the woods.
2
MAN
Can all the animals around here
talk?
DEER
Probably. I don't know all the
animals though.
(LOOKS around)
MAN
Why do I have to leave? Does it
have to do with that bear?
DEER
You just have to go.
The deer TURNS around and JUMPS into the bushes.
MAN
Hey!
The man FOLLOWS after the deer. The man STOPS at a clearing
full of dead plants. The man LOOKS around slightly
concerned.
MR. TURTLE
I told you not to come
The man LOOKS at the center of the clearing and sees mr.
Turtle. The man WALKS over to mr. turtle, KNELLS DOWN and
PICKS mr. turtle up.
MAN
What is this place?
MR. TURTLE
You should go.
MAN
Not until you tell me why.
MR. TURTLE
You'll lose yourself, like those
animals.
MAN
Those animals?
MR. TURTLE
You may have not meet any, they
just wander around, no aim, no
purpose. It's just sad.
3
RUSTLING from the bushes. The man and mr. turtle both LOOK
over. The deer JUMPS from the bushes.
DEER
Turtle! The bear is coming this
way! This guy is still here?
(LOOKS between mr. turtle
and the man)
MR. TURTLE
Lets worry about the bear first.
Move man, move!
(Mr. turtle WIGGLES)
The group MOVES BEHIND some bushes. The giant bear PLODS
into the clearing. The giant bear SNARLS and SCRATCHES and
the ground. The bear WALKS off from where it entered from.
Deer WALKS AWAY into the clearing, the man FOLLOWS deer.
They all GATHER around the scratches on the ground.
DEER
Huh, that was kind of strange, they
don't usually come back to these
parts.
(Deer EXAMINES the
scratch marks)
MAN
What could they get by coming here?
(Man SQUATS DOWN)
MR. TURTLE
Not that I can think of.
Man PLACES mr. turtle on the ground. Mr. turtle WADDELS onto
the scratches. Man EXAMINES the starch marks and FINDS(?) a
big seed
MAN
What's this?
(man TURNS the big seed
in his hand)
DEER
Well, first of all, it's a seed.
(Deer MOVES closer to
Man)
Secondly it looks like it's from a
fruit tree. Turtle, should we plant
it?
4
MR. TURTLE
Not here, but I can think of a good
place.
(Mr. turtle turns TOWARDS
the edge of the clearing)
Lets head down this way
Man PICKS UP mr. turtle and WALKS into the forest. Deer
GALLOPS behind them.
MAN
So why are we going to plant a
seed?
DEER
All forest grows from seeds, so we
might as well plant them.
The group enters a GROVE. Deer walks up to a STREAM and
starts DIGGING at the ground. Man WALKS over to deer and
plants the seed in the ground.
MR. TURTLE
That'll do, we better get moving,
we've got a lot of work to do
