Re: Poké Park [v2]
So the dialogue is the same for both?

- actual big spoilers:
- Everything I've seen points to both having Team Flare aiming to destroy everyone except themselves; however, in X they want to use the Ultimate Weapon to keep the world eternally beautiful and make themselves immortal, and in Y they want to use it to snuff the world out before the beauty fades. The difference is only made by a few lines in the game, so like I said, it's a very slight difference.

Re: Poké Park [v2]
*went ahead and look at the spoiler since he's already been spoiled about most of the plot already*
Hmmm.... I would agree and say it's only a slight difference when looking at it like that.
I guess it doesn't really matter which one I get first.
I did like Yveltal better than Xerneas when I first saw them (mainly still do, but I do like Xerneas more now than I did before), so I think the only reason why I did lean more towards X was because of Charizard X (though, I do like Charizard Y as well, even though it's not a dragon type).
I guess I will go with Y first and hope they do have the Charizard event in the US eventually.
Just out of curiosity, which do you guys prefer and why?

But have you seen the actual, in-game dialogue for both yourself? I doubt it. :ICaprizant wrote:Charles Dunois wrote:As someone who's beaten both multiple times, I can confirm this is not at all true. :/Caprizant wrote:Team Flare's intentions differ slightly between games. Re: Poké Park [v2]
I prefer X because X is a cooler letter. :I
And also because I like the feel of it more. It's all cool and blue and peaceful and nature-y, with the title screen and Xerneas and the logo and everything. But when I bought it, the only reasons I had were X being a cooler letter and figuring that a friend of mine would get Y (which he did).
Fake Edit: I've seen the dialogue differences for Lysandre on Bulbapedia, which I can concede may be subject to error. :B

Re: Poké Park [v2]
I've noticed that I always seem to prefer the lighter/cool-colored versions over the darker/warm-colored versions. Y'know, Diamond over Pearl, White over Black, X over Y. The only exception is Ruby, because that was my first game.

I usually get both paired versions. The only exception since I started getting the games myself was HGSS, where I only got SoulSilver.

I usually prefer the second version. The only exception was Black (and Red for the American Gen. I).Caprizant wrote:I've noticed that I always seem to prefer the lighter/cool-colored versions over the darker/warm-colored versions. Y'know, Diamond over Pearl, White over Black, X over Y. Re: Poké Park [v2]
I've varied from gen to gen.
First gen I had a game (II), I got gold. Can't remember a specific reason for getting gold over silver, but I was seven at the time, so who knows what I was thinking back then.
I got Sapphire when my grandma said I could get a game one time and Walmart didn't have Lego Star Wars for the GBA (yeah, for some reason, I really wanted to get that game when I first heard about it) I am so glad they didn't have it that day. I can't remember if they had Ruby or not (they might have, but I probably picked Sapphire because it was blue since my favorite color is blue).
Gen IV was probably the first gen where I had to have the games. Top of my list that year was a DS and Diamond and Pearl. I got Diamond first with my Crimson and Black DS Lite for Christmas, then Pearl later for my birthday. Played Diamond waaaaaaaay more than Pearl (still on the first save for Diamond and the game play time is on 999:99).
I had a chance to get Fire Red once at a Walmart. They were out of the one game I wanted (this time, it was Are You Smarter Than A 5th Grader (yeah, had some weird interests in games back then, but I liked the game show a lot when it was on )). Anyway, I was going to get Fire Red instead, but nobody would come to get the game, so we just left without getting a game...
When I heard about Heart Gold and Soul Silver, I had to have Soul Silver because my copy of gold wouldn't save anymore, and I wanted to get the opposite version to see what it was like. Also, I think SS also had more version exclusive Pokémon than HG that weren't on my Diamond Pokédex.
Gen V was another must have for me. This time, I had to have it ASAP because of the Liberty Garden event. Convinced my mom to send me Black shortly after it came out. She then got White for my birthday, but yeah, played Black way more than White (and, like with Diamond, still on my first save with Black, though haven't gotten to 999:99 on playtime).
I won Black 2 in a Bulba contest. I chose Black 2 since I was playing Black more than white. Currently, Black 2 is the game I've got all my Pokémon on, and also the one I'm playing the most right now (though, still not nearly as much time as Daimond).
So yeah, this gen is probably the hardest for me to pick a game. I could just get both, but when I do that, the other game usually just collects dust unless I feel like playing a new game (and I do like having a game that I feel comfortable restarting so I don't lose a ton of data).
Wow, that was a lot of rambling....

Re: Poké Park [v2]
But in Sapphire you get to catch Kyogre, whose Drizzle ability powers up Water moves.
