I have an eye for detail, probably more than what's for my own good:

“Do you really think I’m worried about just you? That number will bring harm to everyone you care about, look at the boy over there, his best friend got sent to the hospital because of one of these numbers…”

"Lucky me" Nightgear said sarcastically and then in a more serious tone, "I have nobody I care about. If I fail to control the powers of my number, then all it proves is that I am weak. Now kindly please get off my truck, I have work to do."

When Dino confronted Nightgear, Nightgear didn't take her eyes off the kid on her truck. "I know better than to let my guard down, I've nearly lose my life several times as a result of letting my guard down."

The boy stared at Nightgear for a while, "You must really be lonely to accept the company of that beast..." He then turned towards Dino, "So I see you came back, hope you changed your mind about my proposition before it becomes t-" At that instant the boy was sliced in half right in front of them, only no blood appeared, instead simply darkness. His top half landed on the ground at Nightgear's feet, "Oh dear, looks like its too late for you...why don't people ever listen? If you excuse me, I'd best be gone, as you can tell, he doesn't really like me..." With that the boy's body faded away.

Before anybody could react, a doctor ran out the door, "Hey, get in here! A huge storm's coming this way! They say it's gonna be one of the worst storms in a while and nobody's allowed on the road!"

If they looked at the clouds, they would notice the sky had become as dark as night, a storm coming so fast, could it be natural?

Nightgear was unfazed by what she had just witnessed, being no stranger to death. After surveying the sky for a few seconds, she made her decision and she climbed into her truck to move it out into the parking lot so that the lane in front of the hospital's emergency room, where the truck was currently parked, was clear.

After moving it so that the truck faced the current wind direction (this reduces the chance of it flipping over due to windsheer), she confirmed the damaged tank was now empty and shut the truck down. Normally she also bleed the air tanks if she wasn't going be driving for a while, but decided against doing this on the grounds that if the truck had to be moved in a hurry, she couldn't wait for the air pressure to build back up. Nightgear then lowered the landing gear on her trailer and hurried inside the hospital.

Meanwhile, Dino managed to rush into the building immediately. Despite just witnessing a death, he remained apathetic, since he had a clear disliking of said boy and his supernatural abilities. He kept staring outside, as the storm was coming and Nightgear entered.

"Greetings, fellow Number holder. I think we have to talk."

"Why?"

"That boy over there... He appeared to me this morning, at a hospital room upstairs. What he tried to do is to convince me to give away my Number. Then, he appears before you, dies all of a sudden and whips up a storm on top of it. Doesn't it sound at least suspicious?"

Nightgear was silent for a minute. "While all the events are undoubtedly connected in some way, why do you care what I think?"

Dino replied: "Have you heard of the one called Shadow Walker? I think he is about to strike, the storm outside is a strong indication. That person hunts Numbers, and we are the only holders here."

"I must admit I get the same feeling as well. And how do you know that we're the only holders here in this building?"

"If there were more, the boy would have mentioned something. Besides, with all the news running wild about Shadow Walker and the storm outside, they should have either shown up or run away. Hiding from him does not look like a viable option."

As the winds outside began to pick up, and the lights began to flicker, the workers ran around within the hospital, emergency preparations and the usual work load causing said issues. That was when the lights went out and then....


nothing.


No footsteps, no shouts, nothing but emptiness.


Then the lights came back and the hospital was now empty. The light was not from the ceiling, but from what seemed to be twilight outside. The hospital seemed run down now, so old and decayed...and then he appeared. A hooded figure, scythe-like d-pad on his arm, cold eyes staring them down and one word left his mouth, "Numbers…"


Shadow Walker had come.

Dino stood totally motionless. What he felt was neither fear, nor confort. He could expect the eventual appearance, and emotionless, his only thought was to defeat him and stop his rampage. He wanted to use his Number for a righteous purpose, for once.

Nightgear also felt a sense of duty, though not for exactly the same reasons.

Shadow Walker merely took a step forwards as he pointed at his scythe which now looked clearly like a d-pad.

"Duel...."

It was clear now, he wanted to duel...

(which one of you will take him on?)

(scripted? or on DN? because I was thinking battle royal, using DN to get a random deck order and hand, then rping/scripting it from there.... though whatever the case, I have homework I need to be doing and tomorrow isn't looking much better in terms of predicted workload)
