Re: The TARDIS
*just finished "Journey to the Center of the TARDIS"*
WELL. That may have been the single greatest mindfuck this series has given me yet.
EDIT: Question(s)—I've noticed that I've got "The Name of the Doctor" and "The Time of the Doctor" on my DVR, but not "The Day of the Doctor." How important is it that they're watched together, in sequence? Is "The Day of the Doctor" its own self-contained plot, or will I have to watch it to understand what's going on in the other two or in the rest of the series? Should I wait until I can record "The Day of the Doctor"?

Re: The TARDIS
There is a big bit at the end of Name of the Doctor that will only make sense if you see Day of the Doctor after it, otherwise, you're going to be confused as fuck.

Alright, thanks, I'll hold off until I can get "The Day of the Doctor" then.

Re: The TARDIS
Also, I highly recommend watching this after seeing Name of the Doctor:
The BBC's Youtube channel has a few mini episode-like videos from Doctor Who. Most of them are just lead ups to an episode, but that one is a must watch because it reveals a very important event in the Doctor's timeline.
- spoiler warning for doctor who! do not watch until you have seen The Name of the Doctor:

In the meantime, I've just discovered I've got the entirety of David Tennant's first series on DVR :D

Re: The TARDIS
I got stuck with the second series after "Tooth and Claw" left a bad taste in my mouth, but I'm continuing on with "School Reunion" now, which is pretty good so far. I'm glad I've already read a bit about the old series on TV Tropes, otherwise I would be completely lost on
- actual spoiler:
- Sarah Jane Smith's appearance in this episode, which is actually rather well-done.
EDIT: And let's not forget K-9!

God, "The Girl in the Fireplace" was one of the most beautiful episodes I've seen yet.

Re: The TARDIS
I've got "The Day of the Doctor"! Starting where I left off now, at "The Crimson Horror."
Also, I got as far as "The Impossible Planet"/"The Satan Pit" for Ten. And God, those were amazing episodes.
I stopped in the middle of "Love and Monsters," though. Didn't much like it.

Re: The TARDIS
I've just finished watching "The Time of the Doctor"! I've gotta say, those last three episodes were pretty amazing.
I really should be going to bed, but I have a strong urge to watch "Deep Breath." So I'm gonna. :V
- reaction (I can't think of much to say at the moment, so it's not long, but still spoilery):
- I'm so glad they tied up all the loose ends throughout Matt Smith's tenure, the whole end of the fifth series was bugging me up until now. And it was nice to see that even the most hostile enemies like the Silence can actually make decent allies.
Also, my favorite scene in all of "The Day of the Doctor" is the one where Tennant, Smith, and Hurt are in the cell together debating how to unlock the wooden door. An amazing bit of character development.
And I love the music choice in the last Eleven scene—it's the same theme from "The Rings of Akhaten"! :D I'm thinking of making Matt's final "different people" speech my senior quote. There's other things I'm considering, but it's one of the forerunners as of this point.
And also again, I love how sudden Capaldi's appearance is. Plus, "We're probably crashing!"

Re: The TARDIS
Watched "Last Christmas" finally. I wasn't sure how much I'd like it after hearing about the plot from my uncle, but I really enjoyed it!

Re: The TARDIS
I'm attempting to watch the entirety of series 8 before the premiere of series 9 at 9PM Eastern tonight. Just about to start with "Mummy on the Orient Express," which I've heard is a great episode.
