Re: Supremacy 1914: End of The Great Tea War
- More updating:
...That's not good...
So apparently, my army was wiped out before it got to where it was going, and Sweden has sent a unit to retaliate on my oil province....
Casualty count is nearly even now (with my side having 1000 more casualties (one unit)). Last update, I had fewer casualties than Sweden by about....20,000? Probably a bit off, but still....
At least I'm still the second most dreaded nation (which may or may not be a good thing, but I'm assuming is a good thing).
Anyway, better send reinforcements:
That probably won't help much, but hopefully I can at least hold them off until I get something else going.
Oh, and if all else fails, I'll just accept that cease fire offer.
Okay, I think it's time to start building up London:
Best way to do this:
Goldmarks! I have over 100,000 still, so I'll just keep going until everything is complete:
.....Well, nearly complete. Forgot that factories can't be fully leveled up until later in the game. Oh well, that'll do for now.
Still not sure what the purpose of Aerodromes are, since it seems like you can build air units at any factory. Maybe they can only land at aerodromes (and I don't know why they'd need to unless they consume fuel while in the air and need to land to refuel)?
As you can see, I also built a Barracks. This helps increase the number of troops at this province, but it does take a log of grain to run, so I'll have to deactivate it for now until I get more food resources.
The other thing to note is that Fortresses can be upgraded to level 5, which offers the best protection from enemy attacks in this Province.
Anyway, I think I'll wrap things up here by balancing out my resources better:
I also used the last of my money to buy more wood on the stock market, so this is all I can do for now.
I'll try to check back later and see how my units are doing against Sweden. But anyway, until next time, see ya!

Re: Supremacy 1914: End of The Great Tea War
- Day 10:
AERODOMES ARE NOW BUILDABLE
And use few materials O_o
I expected that they would use more and take longer than a day to build. I wonder if I'm missing something here... All I knew about the air pack was what was in the sorely outdated handbook, which didn't even mention that there are two types of planes, bombers and fighters.
As I watch my neighbors grow stronger, I'm getting concerned that my defenses are extremely inadequate.
*chooses to build two fortresses*
Hey! What happened to my grain production!?!
Oh that's right, I ordered that workers repaired one of the barracks in my captured land.
*notices my iron ore supply*
That's disappointing, though when I think about it more, it's reasonable that it's not higher. It does hurt my production schedule...
Hopefully this railway in Frankfort helps speed up production.
It does, but it still isn't nearly enough...
- Day 11:
My food remains a problem and I was not anticipating this problem would keep plaguing me. However I have two factories nearing completion so this problem will hopefully go away for a day or two.
Hmm... I wonder if my damaged barracks is sucking away my grain.
I haz another factory. Though I was hoping for a larger increase in production...
*some time later*
So I just accidentally dragged one of my units and in the process gave the order to attack Italy (because that's what happens when you use a trackpad). Thankfully, the Honor Period stepped in, preventing an international crisis.
This is better now that my other railroad is complete. And I just so happen to have the materials for another railroad if I chose to build another one. My problem right now is money and the fact I am burning through it really quickly.
And like the past few days, nobody is buying gas :horrorified:
Grain, however, is in very high demand, only my stocks are not sufficient for demand.
I do have two LV2 Factories nearing completion and that's the minimal required level for building aircraft so I might as well begin building an airbase and TheHague (no mistake, that's how it's spelled) looks like a good spot
Woah, somebody else also has the same idea. And a railway too? Somebody is spending goldmark.
4 upgrades in the space of a few minutes? Let's
see....
Harbor would require 6,000
Railway would require 6,000
Barracks would require 2,000
Aerodrome would require 2,000
That adds up to 16,000 goldmark, assuming jokool didn't spend extra on building materials or additional levels.
*then notices the article about a recent battle*
Oh wow. I know jokool has a food shortage so losing this battle wasn't good. Corps are fairly large fighting groups. If I remember correctly, the range is about 30 to 40 units or 20 to 30. In this case, because there was at least one car, it's called a Car Corps.
*thinks for a little bit*
There are still 2 or 3 full days of peace between us, then all bets are off as to when war breaks out.
Strategically, the peace period will end at a bad time for jokool. His forces are divided and the war in Sweden clearly isn't going as well as he hoped if he lost that battle. Depending on how fast I can turn out fighting units, I could gain an upper hand for a day or two if I chose to attack as soon as the peace period was over.
However one must also keep in mind it is much easier to defend than attack in this game. Even a LV1 Fortress reduces damage by 50% and if I remember correctly, a LV5 reduces damage by 90%. However even the strongest walls crumble after continued artillery barrages.
In any event, I want more non-British land. I also want to see if the AI's forces cap out at 25 per city. Previously AI capped out at 15 per city.
So I just read jokool's update and his situation is worse than I thought. I believed the battle occurred in Trondhjem, but it turns out it occurred in Bergen and furthermore Bergen is currently under attack by Sweden.
So jokool has reinforcements on the way, but those reinforcements are in bad shape. And apparently if he fails to recapture Bergen, he's going to throw in the towel on this war.
Personally, I believe it'll be a bad move to just leave all that oil there since it'll be much harder to get another nation's providence.

Re: Supremacy 1914: End of The Great Tea War
Something is telling me that it's getting close to the point where we shouldn't read each other's posts.
But yeah, I am thinking about giving up on Sweden if I can at least hold them off from what I've got at the moment. If I can get something going though, I'll continue the fight.

I'm just analyzing the situation as it comes. I don't want to fight you just yet.

Re: Supremacy 1914: End of The Great Tea War
That's good. I don't think I'm quite ready to take on your battleship yet (saw that in the paper).
- Another update:
Good news: I've got the upper hand again!
Bad news: Sweden appears to be sending a new unit in....
Oh God... Everything's a wreck in Bergen.... Not good for my oil supply.... Hopefully, it doesn't get any worse from the fighting.....
*starts rebuilding the railway first*
Hmmmm.... Apparently, you can't use goldmarks while battles are happening in that province....
Anyway, I better send some reinforcements to prepare for that other Swedish unit:
I think everyone in Great Britain should just about do.
Looks like I have just enough to get my factory in London up to level 3. I won't use goldmarks this time to finish it since I can't really do anything with it anyway.
Well fuck... There goes plan B....
I guess offers from AI fail if they're not accepted right away....
Oooo.... Grain is very valuable right now! I could make a lot of money if I sell some, though I'd like to have more than around 1000 tons...
This offer will do! Now to build a few more things:
Like a Fortress here where that Swedish Unit is heading towards.
I'll also build a couple of railways around here to increase some resource production, and to help get my units moving a bit faster.
Looks like I'm gonna have to buy some.
And I'll have to use goldmarks because it's too overpriced at the moment. Can't really spare any money anyway since I just have enough for the other railway.
Well, that'll just about do it for now.
I'm wondering if I should cut back on building stuff and save up for one of these. *will ponder this overnight*
Anyway, until next time, see ya!

Re: Supremacy 1914: End of The Great Tea War
I didn't even think about that when I did it.
- Spoiler:
Well, things are looking sort of okay. I held off the one Swedish attack, but now the other one is there before my reinforcements arrived...
And also, German Battleship.- Spoiler:
Just kidding.
Whoa! That deal is too good to pass up! I really need money right now, and it'll still leave me with plenty of grain.
Hmmm.... Still need more supplies though. *heads to stock market*
This should do for now. I'll build up a few things and call it a day.
Derp... Forgot I could do something in the meantime:
Nothing happening at Bergen anyway, so I may as well send those units over to attack that Swedish Unit.
Now I'll wrap things up. Might check back later tonight to see how things are going, but anyway, until next time, see ya!

Re: Supremacy 1914: End of The Great Tea War
- Day 12:
BISMARCK LIVES AGAIN
And holy shit that used up a shit ton of goldmark. :horrorified:
But anyway, Bismarck's first deployment is to the coast of Great Britain. Maybe it'll scare jokool
Nah, I'll send her north to check on the situation up there. If jokool doesn't log on again until tomorrow at roughly 8:00 AM EDT, then it might scare the pants off him for a few seconds until he remembers the honor period
Maybe he'll even send me a request for help
I wouldn't mind giving him some firepower if he gave me something in return, like raw materials or units. None of our rules prohibit co-op.
Well look at that, he sent reinforcements. I'll send
Bismarck down to intercept and follow them. I'm curious as to what's going on right now and Bismarck is more than capable of defending herself against the troop transports in the impossible event they try attacking.
HELL YES I WANT TO CANCEL THE PRODUCTION I STARTED COMPLETELY BY ACCIDENT SOMEHOW.
*didn't log on for the rest of the day*

Re: Supremacy 1914: End of The Great Tea War
- Quick update:
Things are starting to look up now! Finally holding off Sweden (at least, for now).
.....What the..... I was rebuilding that, so why is it still damaged?
*sigh* Oh well, I'll just repair it and use goldmarks to finish it. Better do the same for the Harbor:
There we go. I'll let the Workshop finish building (since it only takes 30 minutes), then work on it tomorrow.
...Although, I am using quite a bit of Goldmarks lately.... Maybe I'll cut back for now.
Might try saving up for a bomber (like I said I would a couple of updates ago :P).

Re: Supremacy 1914: End of The Great Tea War
- today's update is brought to you by me:
FUCK!!! ANOTHER ATTACK!!! Quick! Send everyone!
.........Okay, not everyone, but how about 100 troops?
Ooo! That's a good deal! And I need Iron! I'll take that!
I think I'll go ahead and build up Liverpool a bit. I'll get this Aerodrome built and finish it with Goldmarks, then:
Start working on the final Factory level.
Need more wood again... Guess I'll take this offer, which will leave me just enough money for now.
I was debating whether or not I should do this now, or wait until I get more troops, but I thought I might need them if Sweden does another attack. I'll also be sending artillery and other stuff once I have enough to build them.
Hmmmm.... This level is almost done. Guess I'll wait and start the last level in a bit.
*goes to watch Youtube videos*
*45 minutes later*
Boom! Ready to build! And just enough money too!
Well, that'll just about..... *just noticed something*
Crap.... I forgot the Pope is the leader of Italy in this game...... I CAN'T GO TO WAR AGAINST THE POPE!!!!
......I'll try to figure something out. Fortunately, I don't have to deal with that part of the map at the moment.
Anyway, now I'll wrap up this update. So until next time, see ya!

The Pope VS Satin's Bastard/Bitch? Sounds good to me, provided I have your assurance I'm not going to get blasted in the back both while I'm dismembering angels and while I sweep them away (read: rebuilding my forces for a week or something like that).

Re: Supremacy 1914: End of The Great Tea War
Don't worry, I have no plans to attack you any time soon.
My main priority is surviving Sweden first, then I probably go for Denmark after rebuilding my army.

Re: Supremacy 1914: End of The Great Tea War
Then do we have a formal agreement (read: not quite unbreakable if one of us really wants to be an asshole) not to blast each other until both Denmark (or some other country that isn't The German Empire) and Italy have fallen?

Re: Supremacy 1914: End of The Great Tea War
Agreed. *shakes your hand*
I'm honestly not planning anything until we've gotten everything on the map, just so we can have two commentaries throughout the entire LP.

Re: Supremacy 1914: End of The Great Tea War
- Double posting for quick update:
Finally, a moment of peace in Sweden! Now I can start regrouping and getting back on the offensive instead of playing defense.
But just to be safe, I will improve my defense a bit.
And help get more oil production going.
*uses goldmarks to finish it because he forgot something*
Whoops! No fortress here! Better fix that problem now:
Aaaaaaaaand that's all I can do because I'm out of money.....
Now maybe I'll listen to myself and save up for a bomber....
I think I'll pass. I'm feeling good now.
And to wrap up this update, I'll move some troops around. I should be able to start another attack soon and, hopefully, get a new province or two this time around.
Anyway, that's all for now, so until next time, see ya!
