I was watching live from Gordon's car camera on Nascar.com, and I nearly threw my laptop when I saw him spin... He's still alive in the chase though, but still very annoying how that happened...

This was the last race in the third elimination round of the new Chase format. The top 4 in points move on to the final race in Homestead. Whoever finishes best in that race wins the championship.

Ryan Newman raced his way in on the final turn, scraping past Kyle Larson to get a high enough finishing position to edge Jeff Gordon out of the final round by one point...

Yeah, my dad was a bit upset about that as well! Quite a race.
