Dang....

Since I'm here, what do you guys think of my Salamence?

EVs are in Attack and Speed. Flawless IVs in everything but Special Attack. Jolly Nature (Speed+/Special Attack-). Ability is Moxie. Current moves are Dragon Claw, Fly, Earthquake, and Outrage.

So yeah, it's RNGd. I currently have a Choice Scarf on it to help it sweep, but it does get KOed occasionally...

Any suggestions on moves or items?

Now, I usually set up my 'mons to be like "be able to hit as many types super effectively as possible", and that may be the wrong way to go about things, but...wouldn't it be better to have a different-typed move rather then Dragon Claw or Outrage?

...also, what good is a Choice Scarf?

I was thinking about replacing Dragon Claw anyway since I mostly use Outrage (for STAB), so maybe a Rock type move (maybe Rock Slide or Stone Edge)?

I was also considering replacing Fly with Aqua Tail so I could possibly use it on my Rain team, but Fly has been working really well in the Champion's Tournament, so I'll at least hang onto that for now.

And Choice Scarf insures (most of the time) that Salamence goes first and can kill off something to get the Moxie boost, but it does have that drawback of not being able to use any other moves (though, that usually isn't a problem if I use Outrage since it's locked into it for 2-3 turns anyway).

I was considering a Focus Sash to make sure it survives a OHKO, but I currently don't have one on Black 2 since I was using all my BP to get all the TMs (which I finally accomplished today).

Hmmm.... Dragon Claw & Outrage, sounds like Dragon Claw can go. I would consider Fire Fang if it's not too late to learn it.

I'm entering a thing on dA, like a pokemon tournament thingy, and I was wondering about a few things, like what move sets I should have for my two pokemon.

I've chosen
Slash, Shadow Sneak, Iron Defense, and Sacred Sword for my Honedge. (Also, I'm looking for names. The Honedge is a male and *plot twist* contains the spirit of this OC's father.)

I've chosen/am using the moves of my Pidgeot on Fire Red
Wing Attack, Fly, Hyper Beam, Agility. (I'm going to need a name for it though. Let's make it female.)

I'm more curious about the Honedge, since I've not had one on my team yet. I'm comfortable with Pidgeots, so yeah. :I Advise??

Ah, poor Grayson. He got out of Pallet Town, but he's managed to walk right back into it. He was doing so well...

Mega Evolution will be possible during Contests: https://twitter.com/BulbaNewsNOW/status/497974880928038912/photo/1

I noticed that the stage looks more open than previous games, kind of like what it looks like in the anime. I wonder if Contests will be more anime like in OR/AS?

As long as they're nothing like the Sinnoh Contests, I'm absolutely fine :I

What was the difference between Hoenn Contests and Sinnoh Contests?

hoenn contests are just the third phase of a sinnoh contest and how _____ they appear to the public. not as sophisticated as a sinnoh one.

I prefer sinnoh contests, they added more depth imo, plus it made that much harder to beat a master rank contest.

Accessories are a pain in the ass. Saying they make the contests harder to win is like saying having monsters filled to the brim with insta-kill moves in a game where if the protagonist dies, it's game over is more difficult: it's true, but it doesn't require skill, just luck.

And in your petty squabble, you didn't answer this lovely lady's question!

As a Aegislash user, I can say that your Honedge's moveset is pretty solid. If you're offensively-edged, though, I'd recommend slotting in Sword Dance somewhere, because it's Pretty Awesome. I can't offer a name, though, if only because of the plot twist (Honedge's swordness can only make me think of sword names - mine, for example, was named Zantetsuken, Odin's sword from Final Fantasy.)

I find more problems with your Pidgeot's moveset, though, if only because Hyper Beam is special on a physically-aligned Pokémon and that Pidgeot's pretty much dead if it comes up against a Rock or Steel-type (or a Rock-Steel-type). Looking over its moveset, though, Pidgeot is pretty troubled...so I'unno.

luck plays a thing in all games, and it's a matter of balancing skill and luck, and I think it's a matter of where you place the accesories, as my friend taught me to use a mustache as a toupee in a cool contest with a mustache for massive points, and it worked for me all the time. yes luck is a HUGE part of a sinnoh contest, but skill and planning is part of it too. that's how I always win a sinnih contest, despite being tougher than a hoenn contest
