TOUCHDOWN, MANCHESTER UNITED WINS THE RACE

So... Someone nicked an unmarked trailer from a Georgia Hotel Parking Lot that had a NASCAR car in it. Also 13 cars have failed inspection, including several of the big name drives like Johnson and Gordon.

Yeah, Jeff was not happy about what happened...

The reason for this number of infractions is mostly due to new procedures that use lasers to measure the dimensions of the car. This is much more accurate, but apparently if you're not on it right, then you'll fail.

Update to stolen car: It's been found unharmed, but it won't be used in the race.

There are conflicting reports on if the trailer and truck has been found. It appear that neither has be found yet.

Interesting race today at Atlanta. Jimmie Johnson won on what was a damp and cold race. The race was slightly delayed at the start for some passing rain and track drying, but stayed rain free the rest of the way.

Had a few big wrecks, including one that involved Jeff Gordon... Aaaaand he ended up taking a hard hit on an unprotected inside wall, similar to what happened to Kyle Bush in last week's Xfinity race. Fortunately, Jeff was okay, but he was not happy about there being no safer barrier where he hit.

While Jeff was fine, Jamie McMurray also hit the same wall and apparently now has a concussion.

Well it doesn't seem that Jeff can catch a break this year. First he won the pole, then lost it during practice along with his engine.

....Really starting to think he should have retired last year...

Kurt Busch is back and he's gotten a wavier so he's still in the hunt for the championship, like it really matters at this point in the season.

This year is not a good year so far for Jeff. Now his car won't start (or has stalled) and everyone else is getting into position.

Jeff did manage to get it started and out in time. Presently Lap 19. One thing that has me concerned is that amount of bouncing the cars are doing on the track. Now the race was last resurfaced in 1996 and is the oldest surface in the circuit....

Yes it was. It was the first race in a long time that I loosely watched all the way through.
