Fuck. Carrie Fisher is dead y'all. :(

I...I almost can't believe it. It is just so bizarre knowing that this icon since...well since I've been born, really...is gone. I've never thought about it before, but I wouldn't be surprised if her role as Princess Leia in Star Wars was a large inspiration for me and my characters. Carrie Fisher was more than Leia though, and has just continued to be an inspiration and just...real, ya know? She kept things real. And now that she's gone...it's just very bizarre for me. Huh.

I just hope they can do something with episode 8 and 9 without needing a recast
CGI maybe?

If her parts in 8 are already shot, they'll probably leave it in. They won't recast, they're smarter than that. What I could see them doing is just writing around it, like "oh, she's just somewhere else at the moment busy with things" until they can do a time-skip to where she's not around anymore in-universe.

Oddly enough, my mom has been keeping track of the last few actor deaths and noted they have been heart attacks, several well before their time.

the script for 9 was written already iirc, so they'd need CGI wonders and/or stock footage to save them.

Who knows? They may have killed her off in episode 8?

But back to news (and related to this topic): Debbie Reynolds (Carrie Fisher's mother) has been hospitalized after having a major stroke...

Which is confirmed, she has died from it.

Most likely caused by the massive grief and stress over losing her daughter combined with old age. Incredibly sad.
