General Chat! [v10]

Got a new cell phone today. Only a cheap flip phone though, so no fancy apps or anything. Better this way since my old phone was a bit of a distraction.

Only planning on using it for keeping in touch with family and/or emergencies, but if anyone is interested, I'll let you know what my new number is once I get it activated.

It's a Straight Talk phone btw, so I hope it gets better service than my last phone... Also saving a bit on the service plan from my old phone ($30 vs. $35), but I only get 1500 minutes a month instead of having unlimited talk. I never really talk much on the phone anyway, so it shouldn't be an issue, plus I still have unlimited texting, so I can text as much as I want.

Sounds like a better deal than what I have.

maybe I should mention it's not actually his birthday, but he chose it because he typed out a random birthday for himself.

I got to come home early from work.

The drive to work was a bit hectic, with off and on freezing rain falling, and at one point, it was almost a wall of water/ice with our windshield freezing over as we were driving...

After we got there, it calmed down, but my grandma decided to stick around in case it started getting bad again so I wouldn't be stranded alone at least, but, like I mentioned, my manager let me go home early so I wouldn't be stuck if things did get bad (and so my grandma didn't wait 8 hours for me to get off work ).

Well. I did have a robotics competition tomorrow that I took the day off for. So much for that, an impending winter storm is bearing down. Depending on how fast the temperature plummets from the mid sixties we had yesterday, we could see everything from just rain, to freezing rain, to snow. And that's got the county concerned enough that they've cancelled all activities for tomorrow.

Damn, there's ice storms all over the country.
