Re: General Chat! [v9]
Haven't gotten a call back yet and I've decided that the truck isn't worth the trouble.
Anyway onto my next topic. I'm not asking who voting for who, I'm just curious. Who is registered to vote, and have you checked out your candidates? I know a lot of us are focusing on the Presidential Race, but a significant portion of Congress is up for reelection this year. My district has a representative up for reelection.
My county also puts a number of items on the ballot as well, such as financing schools and fire rescue equipment. And transportation projects. Have you guys thought about this as well? I've never liked reading the ballot at the polls and wondering what to pick because I don't have enough information before hand.

Re: General Chat! [v9]
So I kinda forgot to mention, but I got my permit again last week.
So I believe I'm registered to vote now as well, because I mentioned it and such. And since I literally just moved to a new state, I think I'm only going to vote Presidentially this year. Someday when I've settled down somewhere, I'll start looking into the local candidates and whatnot, because it would actually affect me. :V

I'm registered to vote, and I'm a Republican. I honestly haven't given much thought to the elections with how messed up the presidential race is, but you have a good point on checking in on the other positions. Most of the time, I just vote for whoever is running for re-election if they've done a good enough job (if it ain't broke, don't fix it ).

My urge to express my political opinion is now duking it out with my desire to keep this as neutral as possible.jokool wrote:I'm registered to vote, and I'm a Republican. Hence why I hate politics and try to avoid them by any means necessary. Whenever my family starts discussing politics, that's when I put my earbuds in.

*is toying with the idea of trying to find a plowing job this year, perhaps as an owner operator with the Dodge I've been eyeing for the past few days*

Re: General Chat! [v9]
So today I decided to fill up on gas while I was down at the college and I decided to experiment. I've recently heard that top-tier gasoline will cut down on carbon buildup, something that is becoming more of an issue on modern engines. I also know such gasoline has more additives in it to help keep the fuel system in good shape.
So I bought 14 gallons of Shell V-Power 93 Octane at $2.70 a gallon. By the time I got home, Ayumi seemed to be singing a different tune. She kinda sounds healthier, particularly under hard load. Also she now has 69,000 miles exactly.

Found A Thousand Suns by Linkin Park my Walmart's $5 CD bin today. Didn't realize it was the clean version until after I bought it, which annoys me slightly, but I'm not complaining since it was only $5, it's one of my favorite albums, and it only censors a couple of songs.

I'm now listening to The 2nd Law by Muse on Youtube. I saw that in the $5 CD bin at Walmart when I picked up A Thousand Suns the other day, so I may get that next. I've always liked Muse, but I haven't considered getting one of their albums before, so I thought I'd give the album a listen first just to make sure it was a wise investment.

I accidentally bought the clean version of Illmatic by Nas, that's one of my favorite albums of all time, certainly hip-hop. I should've taken the hint when I looked at the back of the CD case and saw "Life's a B****"... shit.
On a totally unrelated note, Jo, you'll be happy to know that I was up until 4 AM last night playing 999 and I finally beat it! Well, okay, staying up until 4 AM is bad, but I honestly lost track of time because I was so excited to beat that amazing game. When I was finally done and looked at my phone, I was like, "Whoa!" It was surreal.
And now I'm going to immediately start up Virtue's Last Reward... when will I learn?

Well I'm pretty much busy for the next few hours. I've gotta clean up and reorganize the patio, which involves taking several planters of old potting mix and dumping them in a location nobody will care about.

Re: General Chat! [v9]
After that was finished, I loaded up four old bikes. My dad will be taking Ayumi today to get rid of them while I take his car to work. I am somewhat concerned for her... She's definitely got some quirks that I'm sure my Dad doesn't know about and I can't tell him because I don't see him this morning. And even if I could tell him, I doubt I could remember them on.
On a side note, I've always thought about getting Ayumi a toolbox for additional storage. I've been rethinking that lately and realized that when I do need the bed, I fill just all of it. The largest bike takes up most of the bed's length while putting three bikes side by side in the front takes up the width between the fender wells. Back during the summer camp, Ayumi was even transporting 12x1 sections of steel fencing.
