I never got why people claim the perma death makes FE more challenging, and hates the modes that take it away, but then they restart a chapter until they can do it without a death.

Well, as I said, I use it to make myself get better at the game. Once I can make it through with no deaths, I'm good enough to try the next level.

it's not that. it's that a LOT of people claim XIII didn't live up to the name the first XII games had been building up. and it wasn' a "tru JRPG" somehow

also, I do try to make it through with minimal deaths, but I always end up having SOME character die.
only 1 died in the original dark dragon when I played it however.
besides, in new mystery, I had half my troops die on lunatic, and still got an A in the endgame ranks for tatics and speed. it was only survival I sucked at.

Japanese styled RPG. I don't really know the differences very well, though, because I actually don't play a lot of RPGs?
