Wellllll, when you're like me, you try not to spend any money what-so-ever unless it is necessary/a heart piece is involved in some manner. :ULief Katano wrote:If 5 Rupees isn't that much of a sacrifice, though, what good would it do to prevent people from checking it whenever they get stuck?

That's really interesting, that's that first I've heard of this theory. I'm surprised I've never heard this before, since I find Zelda lore to be a really fun topic of debate. A franchise that can spark this kind of intelligent discussion is definitely doing something right. Just the other day I was reading a theory proposing that the Link of Ocarina of Time eventually had a child with Malon, which is an idea that I really liked to see backed up with evidence because

I've yet to reach Ikana Canyon. I'm stuck at the darn fish on the GameCube Collector's Edition, and haven't done the Gorons yet in 3D. I want to finish "the original" first, ya know? I'm also side questing, cause side questing is important... (one of my problems with Gyorg is that I only have, like, 6 hearts. Meaning that I've only collected 1 set of heart pieces. It might be up to seven now, but I'm not sure. :U )
Well, like I said, I'm not good with specifics, but I can offer you one small bit of advice: don't forget that you can jump that fence with the horse, even though she may not want to the first seventeen times. :P
Actually, come to think of it, I'm kinda taking a similar approach to you in Majora's Mask, even though I'm further into it than you are. Story-wise, I've basically gotten to the point where I can go into the final boss room and beat the game any time I want to, but I'm trying to get all the masks and all that junk first. More importantly, what I'm really trying to do is plot out a single three-day cycle wherein I can do the most good I can possibly do: beat all the bosses, make sure Romani doesn't get abducted by the aliens, give Lulu her voice back, get Anju and Kafei back together, and all of that other good stuff, all in one three-day cycle so that I've corrected all the wrongs I possibly can before beating the final boss and sending that god-damned moon back where it came from. The fact that I want to do something like this in order to feel like I've properly respected the legacy of a bunch of fictional video game characters is a testament to how intimate and emotional Majora's Mask can get, at least compared to other Zelda games. If Ocarina of Time is rock 'n' roll, then Majora's Mask is weird indie alternative rock being played in a coffee house by hipsters wearing scarves for no reason, ya feel?

I support this theory as well. It does a good job of explaining why Twilight Princess Link grew up on a farm.

I just beat the Thousand Year Door! I forgot how freaking amazing that ending was.Caprizant wrote:Got a game you've been into lately? Post about it here!
I'm playing two games at the moment. One is, of course, Legend of Zelda: Oracles for my LP. The other is actually Paper Mario: The Thousand Year Door. This was my favorite game as a kid, but it got lost for a few years. Now I've found it again, and I'm happy to report that it still kicks ass. :D
I just beat Chapter 4 yesterday, and I'm continuing with Chapter 5 right now.
And now tomorrow I'm gonna get started on the post-game content and working my way towards 100% completion. Troubles, hidden items, recipes, Shine Sprites, Star Pieces, Pit of 100 Trials, etc. :B

I just bought it today at a store on a whim so I barely know anything about it. I assume you liked it quite a bit then, Lief?

Re: What game(s) are you playing?
Yep.
I can't really say that much about it other than it's pretty anime-esque and also sort of Persona 3-and-4-esque (read: there's a social sim part that gives you gameplay bonuses), so if you like that, then.
Also it's kinda hard.
