I was going to say Ransei dissolved, but there doesn't appear to be an Arceus-shaped landmass anywhere, so...racism? Lack of knowledge? Not enough space?

Also whoever did this suffered from Critical Research Failure: even if Unova isn't supposed to be in the place of the US of A/New York in canon, it's...well, okay, it is farther away from other regions then they are from each other, but it doesn't seem to be that large of a distance from them. If nothing else, it seems to be closer to them then Sinnoh is to Kanto.

not to mention the three ranger regions and the first four are supposed to be close together, but are all spread throughout.
