Serial Code?

Rather then distribute it over Wi-Fi or at GameStop, Game Freak has found it needed to obtain a code from GameStop and enter it into your 3DS. Which you need to be connected to Wi-Fi to do.

Wait, do you just ask for one, or do you have to buy the game to get it?

You have to prove that you own the game  (read: have the cartridge on your person). Which might just make it even more cumbersome.

It is literally the stupidest thing ever.

An inconvenience perhaps, but I don't see how this is so much worse than previous events at Gamestop. You already have to bring your system and cartridge right? So why so much fuss?

Also you can't immediately get the thing on your game, you have to enter a code and scratch off the stupid silver thing (true story: I lost like $30 once when I improperly scratched off a 3DS eshop card), and it's something "new" that's a combination of two old things.

And they can run out. WHICH THEY DID LAST TIME I WENT THERE.

Stupid Silver Thing? So you have to enter a code, and then another code hidden under the silver thing?

No, the code's under the silver thing. It would probably help if I checked the order I was writing things down in.
