Yep, with a garden location made specifically for it. You have to "mutate" to get some berries though (which basically means taking two berries you can find (there are now non-replaceable berry trees)(this doesn't apply for two new berries, the Kee and Maranga berries, which raise Defense/Special Defense when hit by a move of the appropriate typ) and planting them next to each other and pray/use Surprise/Amazee Mulch/both.

I can use Mulch to speed up the process?

Yeah. I...have no idea how you don't this, unless you aren't using Bulbapedia, given that the Mulch section comes before the Berry Mutation section.

It's still mostly that once you mutate the berries you need.

Well when you assume that the mechanics didn't change since Gen IV, you may not get on the train of thought that Mulch would help with mutating berries.

But mutating is a new mechanic in itself!

That sounds like it could have been me. The only time I ever got my team to Lv. 100 was in Crystal, and that was through the abuse of the cloning glitch to clone a ton of Rare Candies and Master Balls.

I'll amend that potential statement of mine: I don't consider the use of a couple Rare Candies to be cheating if they were legitly acquired, but the way I went about it back then falls under cheating in my book. xD

On that note, had no idea that EVs increased if they were used in Gen V and onwards. I avoided using them on my main team after Gen 2 and never bothered to check into it.

Actually they still don't increase EVs, however the EV mechanics changed so that you could gain EVs even after you reached Lv 100 as EVs (or is it stats) are now recalculated after each battle.

This is also true in X and Y, even through the Exp. Share as my one of Lv 100 Deoxys got Sp. Def EVs from a Goodra despite never entering the battle. It made me pretty mad though because this Deoxys is best left in Attack Forme.

You gain EVs, and stats (which are calculated with EVs (and IVs (and base stats))) are recalculated after every battle.
