Lost Legends

As Lief's wounds healed, K1 snarled and charged at the distracted Erin, but in his haste his blade merely cut her hair, missing the flesh.

K2 on the other hand, did not move, in fact all he did was smile as he grabbed a lever next to him, and he then pulled it. Grinding gears could be heard as suddenly, the floor beneath David moved once more, and once more he managed to avoid falling in. The kobold was clearly displeased with this and moved the lever once more, and just like before, David nimbly avoided falling in.

That was not all, though, as a strange squeaking could be heard coming from the west, and it seemed to be getting louder...

"...Thanks," Lief begrudgingly responded to Erin. The red gas seemed to power up the kobolds a lot...though admittedly he dropped his guard for one of the strikes. It would probably be beneficial to strike down the new figure before he made the kobolds even more difficult to deal with. So he did so - he ran up to the mysterious kobold and slashed at him with the sword.

Lief's blade was fast, too fast for the kobold to react. He tried to move out of the way, but took a cut to the chest.

Zena is next!

Shouts and various sounds of battle echoed out of the cave. Zena looked back towards the entrance, guilt gnawing on her conscience. She looked around her surroundings, noting the leaves waving in a gentle breeze. "Pelor help me..." she sighed, before running back to the entrance and entering.

Her eyes swiftly adjusted to the lower light. Spotting David, she ran over next to him. "Is everyone all right? I'm...sorry. For taking so long."

The glasses wearing kobold took a step back as he pulled another vial out of his jacket, and threw it, missing Lief's head by an inch, though the kobold seemed to be smiling. The vial kept flying and landed behind David. Suddenly the vial exploded, sending a white liquid out twenty feet in every direction.

The strange sticky liquid began to hold the others down, though with their mighty strength David, Erin, and Zena were able to pull themselves out of it. Lief, on the other hand, was firmly stuck in place.

Stuff:

Restrained is a status effect which leaves the target unable to move, or well, do anything. An other character can spend an action (movement or attack) in order to attempt to free them, at the start of his turn, Lief will spend one of his actions automatically to try to escape, failure means he can't move or attack that turn (magics that don't involve moving can work).

The wierd color is where the sticky stuff is, it is now considered 'difficult terrain'. That means you can only move half of your speed(rounded down to the nearest multiple of 5) to make things simpler I'll give your DT speed:

Erin: 10ft
Zena: 15ft
David: 15ft
Lief: 10ft

After barely making it free of the sticky stuff Lief was now trapped in, David decided to attack kobold 4.

The blade was fast, but the kobold was faster, narrowly avoiding the blade. Seeing as David was right in front of him, k4 smirked and stabbed at him with two quick strikes. The first strike pierced David's stomach, leaving a large cut, and the second barely missed the bard.

Erin is next!

Ether Kobolds are actually good fighters or Erin and her companions suck. Neither of those sounded like plausible options; which leaves the only option being to kill them and see what she could learn during the fight.

Erin turned to Kobold 1 and went in for an attack.

The kobold was unable to react in time as Erin's blade moved swiftly and cleanly removed K1's head, leaving the now lifeless kobold to fall to the floor.

With the momentum from killing the Kobold Erin went in for another strike and attacked Kobold 4

I had a better post but I lost it so have a lazy fast one instead!

Erin's strike missed so K2 flipped a switch to try and trap Zena but he like did a backflip or something to avoid falling. K2 then threw a rock at Erin who laughed as it missed her. Then 8 huge rats came out of the shadows behind the group.

Lief, having pretty much no other choice, struggled to get free of the odd, sticky substance that Restrained him. His paladin's intuition to get rid of the glasses-wearing kobold - who he dubbed "Silver", because of the glasses, and he needed something to call him by - proved valid, because of the mess he was in.

You are no longer restrained! You have one action left!

Celebrating his short victory in getting free from the gooey substance, he then followed the kobold's movements - while the substance on the floor hindered his already-hindered movement, he was able to catch up with Silver, who, despite his wisdom in powering up the kobolds, didn't seem wise enough to flee the scene completely.
