over clocking ones craphics card is extremely easy, that and just buying some better RAM for the total price of about 100~200$ as opposed to buying a new computer

Re: The Galactic Arcade [v1]
Well, this laptop is a few years old, so it's not just the graphics card, it's also the processor, the cpu, the memory..... Just about everything needed for gaming.
Even the audio is crappy at times.

hmm...
well in that case, I personally would just buy a decent gaming laptop, and if its a laptop, its cheaper

Uhhhhh.... Actually, from what I've seen, a really good laptop is usually more expensive than a desktop. Gaming laptops are usually around $1000 or $2000, while you could technically build a good gaming desktop for under $1000.

If he had a desktop, it'd be easy to change the RAM, I've done it. However he does not have a desktop. I'm also personally a little skeptical of overworking one of the most important parts of a computer.Impossibear wrote:Truthseeker4449 wrote:You have missed jokool's key problem, his computer is not built for gaming. Perhaps a good choice would be to stick with consoles for short-term and just keep PC gaming in mind for the long term. PC gaming is definitely the more expensive option at this point.
I believe there's something called the PlayStation Now coming out this summer if you want a PlayStation 4 with backwards compatibility, as you mentioned. Only drawback is that it's subscription-based, though.

I like that idea.

I did find something on IGN that kinda contradicts my post: http://www.ign.com/articles/2013/12/28/the-best-gaming-laptops-under-1000

Re: The Galactic Arcade [v1]
So, I've been watching Pewdiepie's LP of The Last of Us over the past few days and just saw the finale earlier.
That game is fucking intense, but really good (though, I didn't like how it ended...).
I like the gameplay elements (like the crafting and upgrading), and the game wasn't completely overtaken by the story (like with Beyond: Two Souls), though, gameplay could be a bit dull at times.
Story was good, but like I said, didn't like how it ended...
A lot of well designed characters, especially Ellie (the girl featured on the game's cover).
Overall, I'd give the game an 8 out of 10 from what I saw.

Found this article while searching for news about that:
http://www.gamesradar.com/nintendo-fusion-believable-prototype-or-outlandish-rumor/
Make of it what you will.
Personally, I don't like the sound of the thing (if it is real, which I doubt), because it sounds like you'd have to buy the console to get the handheld, and I've found myself less than enthralled by consoles in general lately.
