Rumors are starting to spread in the automotive industry that Germany has caught Volkswagen cheating on their gasoline engines as well. I first heard of this myself on Monday, but I haven't yet found a reference in an article about this.

To me, I question why cheat on gasoline emissions, by this point in time gasoline emissions systems are much simpler, less failure prone, less catastrophic when they do fail. Not only that fuel economy has gone up considerably over the past decade in gasoline engines. It's proven technology that doesn't really hurt a gasoline engine, so why cheat it?

Paris, France is under siege from terrorists. I've seen like 60 killed, and 100 taken hostage but I don't trust those numbers. I would however believe the reports of shooters and grenades.

I've heard counts of 15 killed and 60 being held hostage. According to BBC News, there have been three explosions and up to six gunmen reported.

There were apparently seven different attack sites across Paris. (6:51 PM ET)

Also, I don't know of the credibility of their source, but I've seen on social media that up to 12 hostages have been rescued and 2 terrorists shot down.

...118 at the concert hall... so I'm guessing we're going to be seeing a final toll of at least 130. This is horrible and I hope those responsible rot in hell.

I'm finding this more tragic than that plane bombing about a year ago (which I think was the last confirmed, notable terrorist attack). I guess it's because I read about plane crashes all the time so seeing three digit numbers and wreckage on TV usually means so little to me, but I'm having no difficulty in imaging the horror the French people just went through.
