As far as I know they are safe, they're going to go stay with my mom's sister at Myrtle Beach. Worse case scenario, they do have a boat and my grandpa was a naval officer. I am hearing many key roads are flooded down there.

Adblock sold itself and refuses to say who the new owner is, I suggest any of you using it switch to ublock or ublock origin

Thought I saw something odd yesterday while opening a new tab. Well adblock is redundant for me anyway now because Kapersky's own adblocker.

I saw something pop up as well yesterday, but I didn't look at it. Guess I'll look into ublock.

Been nothing but accidents left and right around here. I didn't think road conditions were that bad, but it has been a while since we've had a lot of rain so I'm guessing people are going at their normal speeds and braking at their normal points, which around here means they're in a hurry.
Personally, I mostly go by what traffic is doing, up until the speed limit. Now there a couple of corners where I would be slowing down at because I know taking those corners at normal speeds push my truck close the limit. I always brake earlier than most traffic and it helps I can slow down just by releasing the throttle.
I pity the fire department, I'm not sure if they've gotten a chance to eat lunch yet.

Re: Pit Stop News Desk
It appears to have stopped raining around here for a change. However the storms remained parked and growing in intensity. I've heard the hurricane is now a Cat 5. I've only heard of about 33 deaths related to the hurricane though, all from a cargo ship that went missing.
Meanwhile in South Carolina, the storm has kept water levels rising. Water has risen one and a half feet since my last weather update. My grandparents are trapped, but still okay as the waters are still 6 inches below their house. Water levels have completely cut off all escape routes and I-95 is shut down... On the other side of the lake, the dam is beginning to fail as water is starting to crests over the top of the dam. In my recent research of dams (unrelated to this storm's events), water cresting over the top is apparently usually fatal for the dam.
So basically, things may get real ugly in South Carolina soon. I don't know how many live below the dam, but I do know it will be a huge rush of water as it's not a cute little shallow lake. Looking on Google Earth, it looks like the towns of Lane, Pineville, St Stephen, Russellville, Andrews, Jamestown, Georgetown, and McClellanville would all be in the path of the flood before it hit the ocean.
According to my Grandparents, they only opened the dam's floodgates recently, in my opinion it's probably too late.

So there were three shootings today, killing 2 (third death was a shooter). Noticeably, the President didn't say anything and all guns are said to have been purchased legally.
Still waiting on an answer why these shootings are largely an American thing.

After a record setting 110 day chase by ships of the Sea Shepherd Conversation Society, the crew of the illegal fishing vessel Thunder have been charged with poaching among other crimes after the captain decided to scuttle the ship and Sea Shepherd both rescued the crew and saved evidence of the poaching operation. The Captain and two senior officers have been fined $17,000,000.

It's now coming to light that up to 40% of Bone Cancer cases and 50% of Mesothelioma cases are the result of a contaminated Polio vaccine used in the 60s. The contamination wasn't discovered until the 80s, but it was hushed up until recent research rediscovered this contamination.

Yeeeesh. That's scary! All those people who hate vaccines are going to love this info...
I hope that rediscovery of the contaminated vaccine wasn't because it was recently used...

Unfortunately it's showing up now because it's taking this long for the cancer to start in most people. It's not the only version of the vaccine used in the 60s, but there's still millions affected by this.

Well as if that wasn't bad enough, I've heard that this year's Flu vaccine has killed over 100 people and badly sickened many more. Normally only a few dozen at most world wide die from the vaccine, which is typically made from either a weakened form of the viruses expected, or a "dead" one.
So because of the alarmingly high death toll, the European Union (which usually gets the Flu vaccines first) has banned the Flu vaccine for this year. The US has likewise followed suit.
I am beginning to doubt the story because I'm not really finding much yet about this story, which is something that would sound like it would make international headlines. I hear it was a story on Yahoo...

Yeah, I think we would have heard if that? It's a pretty big thing that would be discussed.

Apparently Mexico is getting slammed by one of the worst hurricanes ever. Category 5 and 200 something mph winds when it hit, and, last I heard, it's still going strong with 180+ mph wind gusts.
It's also making a beeline for Texas and heavy flooding is expected.
