Also, I don't like the ATB system... I panic during every battle and rush through it with no idea what happened...

Question: How many FF games have the Active Time Battle system Lief?

All of them from IV to IX.

However! There is the Wait version of the Active Time Battle, which only allows time to flow when menus aren't open. It's very exploitable, but it's also nice for allowing you to collect your thoughts and plot, because nothing can move when the menu is open unless it was already being performed.

So the PlayStation store is having a a sale and both Final Fantasy VIII and IX are on sale, should I buy one, both, or neither?

get VIII it actually offers a challenge.

yes, but ther's a cap for free players, also XI and it's expansions are pc and xbox 360 only at this point.
