My first console was my mom's old Game Boy. She included (I think) 4 games with it: Dr. Mario, Tetris, Super Mario Land 2: 6 Golden Coins, and The Lion King (my favorites being Tetris and Super Mario Land 2). I never asked for any other games for it, and I never got any more games for it (not counting GBC games that were compatible with it).

After that, I got my Game Boy Color. I think the first game I had for it was an educational game that had Elmo from Sesame Street. Later on, I asked for Pokémon Gold and got it for my birthday (I think?). Other games I got for it were Pokémon Pinball, Super Mario Bros. Deluxe, V Rally 99 (racing game), aaaaaaaaaaand....... I think that was it.

Then, a few years later, I got a Nintendo 64 from my mom (can't remember if it was her old one, or one she bought on sale somewhere since I think I got it around the time that the Game Cube was out or coming out). Had quite a few games with it from the start, and got a few others over the years (bolded ones are games I still have, the rest have been sold): Mario Party 2, Mario Golf, Yoshi's Story, Star Wars: Rogue Squadron, Star Wars: Battle For Naboo, Star Wars: Episode 1 Racer, Nascar 99 and Nascar 2000, Madden NFL 64, All Star Baseball 99, Wipeout 64, Pokémon Snap, Pokémon Stadium, Scooby-Doo! Classic Creep Capers, Rampage World Tour, Battletanx Global Assault, and.....I think that's all of them, but I may be forgetting some since I've sold quite a few of them (some I regret selling...).

Sometime after that, I got my first Game Boy Advance. I originally had just a couple of games for it (Mario Kart: Super Circuit being one of the first ones), but soon had quite a few, including Pokémon Sapphire (which I didn't plan on getting; I was wanting Lego Star Wars, and my Walmart didn't have it, so my grandma let me pick another game, which was Pokémon Sapphire (so glad they didn't have Lego Star Wars)). Then I broke my GBA... I eventually got a new one (a cobalt blue SP) and more games for it. Over the years, my collection of games looks like this (bold for games I still have): Pokémon Sapphire, Mario Kart: Super Circuit, Scooby Doo! Mystery Mayhem, Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl, Spyro Orange: The Cortex Conspiracy, Lego Knights Kingdom, Namco Museum, Pac Man Collection, Popeye Rush for Spinach, Lego Star Wars 2, Frogger Adventures: Temple of the Frog, uhhhh....memory's a bit fuzzy after that, but I think there was a few others that I've gotten rid of over the years...like a jet fighter game thing I can't remember the name of....... Oh well.

A few years later after that (or somewhere in between all of that?), I got a surprise on my birthday and had my first non Nintendo console in the form of my mom's old Playstation. She included quite a few games with it too, but most of them my grandma thought were too violent (Tomb Raider 1, 2, and 3, Area 51, Final Fantasy Tactics (no idea why she didn't like this one), and maybe a couple others) so I sold them. I don't think I got any other games for it after that, which is sad because there's a ton of great games I missed out on (though, I can play them on Vizzed now, so no big deal). The games I still have for it are Star Wars Demolition, Star Wars Rebel Assault 2, Battle Stations, Namco Museum Volume 3, Patriotic Pinball, and Nascar 99. There were a few others that I don't have anymore, including Soviet Strike, a card game of some sort, aaaaaaaaand.....probably a few others I can't remember.

After this is when I really started becoming interested in what kinds of consoles and games I wanted (so, this is about when I started becoming a gamer you could say).

The first console I considered a must have was the DS (mainly because I'd seen promotional stuff for Pokémon Diamond and Pearl and was like ). I got my first DS on Christmas 2007 I believe, and had Pokémon Diamond with it. That was the first Pokémon game I broke the in game clock on (still on my first save to this day and have well over the 999 hours I've played it ). Diamond was the main game I wanted for the DS, and I didn't really have any other "must have" games on my list until the Johto remakes came out (since the battery on my copy of Gold had long been dead and the game no longer saved...). That said, I did have a list of games to get for my DS (probably the first console I've done something like that for), but I only managed to get a couple of those games (and I think all of them have the word Pokémon on them ). Most of the others I've gotten are either extra Pokémon games (like opposite versions of what I had), or just random games my family has gotten me over the years (with maybe one or two exceptions). The list looks like this (bold for games I have still): Pokémon Diamond, Pearl, Soul Silver, Black, White, and Black 2, Sonic Rush, Sonic Classic Collection (one of those exceptions since I saw it was cheap and always wanted to try out the classic Sonic games), Tiger Woods PGA Tour 08, Mini RC Rally, Lego Pirates of the Caribbean (another one I asked for because, well, lego and PotC :P),Disney's A Christmas Carol, Are You Smarter Than A 5th Grader (probably my biggest regret in video gaming since, well, long story short, I could have had Pokémon Fire Red instead of this, but didn't get it... ), Star Wars: The Clone Wars: Jedi Alliance, Lego Star Wars: The Complete Collection.....I feel like there's other's that I've had, but I can't think of them... But yeah, quite a few games for my DS, but a lot of big names missing from it, namely anything Mario...

Moving on, the second console that I've considered a "must have" was my Wii.

...Let's just say that I'm glad that the first Christmas I asked for it, my mom couldn't get one for me, so she got me a Playstation 2 instead.

So yeah, before I got my Wii, I got my second non-Nintendo console: The Playstation 2. I was a bit disappointed at first since I didn't get what I had asked for, but wow, looking back, I am so glad this happened! My PS2 has been my favorite console so far (well, not counting handhelds at least, those are in a separate category). Hands down, the most games I've owned are for my PS2, and there's still quite a few that I plan on getting (like Shadow of the Colossus when I get my Amazon gift code from winning that Minecraft contest). So yeah, so many games I've loved, and so many more I want to get. Games I have are (bold being my all time favorites): Persona 4, Final Fantasy X, X-2, and XII, Star Wars Battlefront 2, Star Wars Episode 3, Star Wars Starfighter, Star Wars Jedi Starfighter, Star Trek Encounters, The Legend of Spyro Trilogy (A New Beginning, The Eternal Night, and Dawn of the Dragon), Pirates: Legend of the Black Buccaneer, Madden NFL 07 and 08, NASCAR 06 and 08, NCAA Football 2004, NCAA 07 March Madness (basketball), MLB 2K7, Backyard Baseball 09, Sno Cross 2, and Ford Racing Off Road. There have been many other games that I've had for my PS2, but have been sold for one reason or another (like a duplicate game, or just a really lousy game my mom got on sale for me), and I won't bother listing all of them since I can't remember most of them (except for maybe a few, like a bowling game, a board game game, and a Seaworld game that was so awful that I rage quit on the first level because I had no idea what the heck I was doing or supposed to be doing...). But anyway, still consider the PS2 my favorite of all the TV consoles I've owned.

...Which brings me to the latest console I've got: My Wii.

I got my Wii the very next Christmas after my PS2. This was a system I thought would be amazing and I just had to have it, especially for Star Wars: The Force Unleashed since, OMG MOTION CONTROLS PLUS LIGHTSABERS EQUALS I AM A JEDI NOW!!! Still liked the game, and I consider it one of my favorite Star Wars games, but yeah, not quite what I was expecting (and the sequel, while still good, had the lightsaber controls as button controls and not swinging motions (which, actually made things slightly better sort of)). But anyway, I still liked my Wii, and had lots of fun playing the games I had for it (though, I did miss out on a big chunk of games I had on my list...). The games I have are (bold for favorites): Wii Sports, Wii Play (mainly played pool on this, plus the shooting and tank game, everything else was just...meh), Star Wars: The Force Unleashed 1 and 2, Super Mario Galaxy, Mario Party 8 (which was probably the game I played the most, and had a lot of fun with, but was slightly disappointed with overall, especially in the mini game department...), Mario and Sonic at the Olympic Games, Lego Star Wars: The Complete Collection (yeah, my mom pretty much got me a copy of this game (or another Lego Star Wars game) for every system I had, and this is the only one I've kept), NASCAR: The Game: Inside Line (horrible, horrible steering controls....had to play this with the nunchuk because if you used the remote as a steering wheel, barely moving it would make you go spinning out of control, no joke...), Wheel of Fortune (had a bit of fun with the family playing this), North American Hunting Extravaganza, Pacific Liberator, and Shaun White Snowboarding (which I never got to play since I got it just before my Wii stopped playing games...). I had one other game for the Wii called Off Shore Tycoon, which I no longer have because it was....weird...and also made me hurt from the crazy mini games that it had using the motion controls...

But anyway, my Wii is now dead to me since it no longer plays games, and, while I did enjoy the games I had on it, I don't really feel like getting a new one to replace it since I hadn't played most of my Wii games in ages.

So that's the last of my consoles (not counting my computer and the games I've got for it, or the 2DS my family has hidden from me for Christmas   ). I've had an interesting history with video games. I'll admit that I've missed out on a lot of great games (though, there's always emulators and Vizzed if I want to try them out, so if you guys have something to say about that, like OMG YOU'VE NEVER PLAYED *insert game here*!?!?, let me know). But anyway, that's the past, and I still have a big future when it comes to video games, like deciding what to get next, which I will talk about now!

I'll start off with a simple list of what I've considered: A XBox 360, a Playstation Vita, a Playstation 3, a Playstation 4, and a Wii U, and also a better computer.

I was wanting to get a 3DS for ages (either close to the time it first came out, or around the time Pokémon X and Y came out), and I finally have one (or will have one when Christmas Day comes), so that's one thing off my list (and it opens up my list of 3DS games to get now ).

As for everything else, I'll do a simple pros and cons list, along with a brief explanation of why I've considered them. To start off:

XBox 360:

....No idea why I've even remotely considered anything XBox... Almost nothing about it appeals to me, except for one game: Snoopy Flying Ace. But yeah, one game alone is never going to convince me to buy a console.

Pros: Snoopy Flying Ace.
Cons: Everything else. So yeah, not even considering getting this anymore. MOVING ON!

Playstation Vita:

Two words: Dangan Ronpa.

...Wait, that's supposed to be one word...

But yeah, Danganronpa is almost the only reason why I've considered a Vita. There are a few other good games on the Vita, but, compared to other consoles, the list of Vita games that appeal to me is tiny...

Pros: Danganronpa, plus other cool anime games (and other games)

Cons: Most of those anime games will never see a US release, small list of games that actually appeal to me (and some can be found on other Playstation Consoles now), little to no selection of other Playstation games to play on it (even though it has the PS Store), not the best or awkward controls (I think?), and overshadowed by Nintendo's handhelds and dying off here in the US. So yeah, probably not going to get one of these either. NEXT!

Playstation 3:

Had this on my list off an on over the years. When it first came out, I really liked it, but never really considered getting one (more interested in the Wii at the time). After a while, and after I found out the Wii wasn't qutie as good as I had hoped, I started considering getting a new console (which may be why XBox was on my list briefly). So many great games on PS3! And it was current gen, so plenty of new stuff coming out at the time. Then the PS4 came out, and stuff started shifting towards it. New games on it only, PS3 games getting remastered for PS4, so yeah, PS3 was dying out, and probably best to move on.

Pros: Excellent selection of games (including Red Dead Redemption, which still has no current gen or PC version), free online multiplayer.

Cons: PS4 is now a thing, so it's slowly dying, and most of the games for it can now be found on PS4 or PC... So yeah, probably best to not spend money on it...

Playstation 4:

The current Playstation console. When it first came out, I didn't like it (opposite reaction to it's predecessor). There wasn't much on it at the time, and it was extremely overpriced (still is, but at least there's a price drop now). Now, the selection of games has improved greatly! Tons of new games are coming out now that I'm actually interested in, older titles are getting remastered releases for it, and there's still a lot to come in the future, plus, Sony is beating everyone else out right now by a long shot. So yeah, a lot to appeal to me now (I just wish online multiplayer was still free and didn't require a PS Plus account...).

Pros: Also an excellent selection of games now (including many PS3 games I've been wanting to try), current gen, so plenty of future games to come, and it's leading the way in the console race by a long shot.

Cons: Still very pricey, despite a recent price drop, and no free online multiplayer anymore.

Huh, first console to have the pros outweigh the cons. Still a few cons, but, like I said, it's got a lot for it now, so yeah, it's hard not to consider getting one anymore.

PC:

Technically not a console, but throwing it in here anyway. Obviously, PC has been around for many years, and will most likely still be around for many, many more years (unless some crazy apocalyptic thing happens where all the computers die, but we'll most likely all be dead if that happens ). Obviously can be quite superior to consoles in the graphics department with better processing power for a fraction of the price (if invested in a good computer). Aaaaaand obviously has an incredible selection of games for it as well, including many, many indie games that will probably never see a console release (though, it has happened for a few games), plus all the awesome adult anime H-Games that you can only dream about being on consoles. But, unfortunately, with all those great games comes a lot of...not so great games... Things like Steam Greenlight and Early Access have opened the door to people...who should just stick to playing games instead of making them... True, a lot of good games have come from these, but still, the large piles of poop games are starting to stink up PC gaming... There's also a few issues with bigger name games having issues on PC, like the latest Batman Arkham game that was literally pulled from the PC market for how unplayable it was, or Mortal Kombat X, which has had more patches than a patchwork quilt, and still has issues (I think, though, they may have fixed it now?). But anyway, I'd say it's safe to assume issues like this won't be problems forever, and hopefully, we'll still have the PC Master Race going strong into the future.

Pros: Been around for years, and will still be around long after the current consoles are dead, incredible selection of games, including many indie games that probably won't make it to console, equal or superior processing power for less than the price of a current console, and vastly superior power for the same price, and I'm already a PC gamer (though, my laptop isn't the greatest for playing games, and I would have to buy a better computer for the bigger games).

Cons: In order to have a great computer, you have to build it yourself (which slightly scares me because, what if I screw up and waste a ton of money?), else you get stuck with an overpriced pile of poop, lots of poop games out there on the market (so you have to watch your step ), and some issues with games not working right on PC (though, that's mainly just because of cheap work done on those games, and some other big name games are just lousy across all platforms (looking at you, faceless people of Assassin's Creed).

So yeah, building a great PC is definitely something I've considered for a long time since it pretty much means I can play any game out there for less than the price of a major console, but I'm still worried that I could screw up and waste a lot of money... But anyway, moving on to the last console on my list.

Wii U:

Hello again, my old friend Nintendo! Haven't talked about you in a while.

Oh boy, where to begin.... Well, let's start with the good stuff. The Wii U does have a good selection of games, and many are amazing. The Wii U also can play Wii games, so I'd be able to play my Wii games again. The Wii U is also cheaper than the other current consoles, so it's actually somewhat reachable if I do consider getting one.

...Now for the negative. I still have the bad taste in my mouth from my Wii (but like I said, I still liked playing the games, they just weren't quite what I was expecting), so that makes me wonder if I'll just be disappointed if I get a Wii U... The Wii U is also not doing so well, and it's future looks bleak to me, especially with what could be a new console coming soon in the form of the NX (but still too early to determine what the NX means for Nintendo, so let's not go there   ). Also, while it is a current gen console, it still lacks many of the big name titles seen on the other consoles/PC, though, there are a few good exceptions (like the exclusive Bayonetta 2)... Processing power is also not as good compared to the other systems, though that doesn't seem to affect the Nintendo titles. So yeah, worrying... Oh, and one other thing: Most of the Wii U games on my list have a 3DS counterpart to them (Mario Kart, Smash Bros, and the Super Mario games).

Pros: Great selection of Nintendo games, can play Wii games, and cheaper than other options.

Cons: Not as powerful, very few big name games that don't have the Nintendo brand on them, bleak future, and bad taste in my mouth from the Wii, plus, many of the games I want I can get the 3DS version of and be happy with.

So yeah, quite a few things factoring into all my choices.
