Also, when we do a reboot of the server, can we have an Achievement City-like area and try out some games from the Let's Plays?

As for the let's play idea... well I just hope that we get a nice diverse world like the last one. This one is pretty much nothing but tundra and woods.

I personally want to start experimenting with servers that can cut out more lag than a vanilla server, though it could take a few weeks after the release of 1.9 for those to be updated.

So I've been trying out CraftBukkit as a replacement for the vanilla server in an attempt to curb lag. So far apparently not really cutting lag, might actually be causing more. However it seems that it does crank up the spawn rate of mobs. The oceans are filled with squid (something known to cause lag), I'm seeing more Enderman than ever before (got a few more pearls, we at 10 now), and of course there's always a lot of mobs lurking around the house. So many in fact that when I do see an Enderman, it's often difficult to get to him because I'm fighting so many mobs at once.

Also strangely, despite staring at an Enderman from the roof for a long time, he didn't agro. There isn't supposed to be any limitations on agroing...

Something like that, but I'm not sure what our logo would be (unless we had a Dunspach head in the middle or something).

Yeah... I think that's been one of our main issues with this world: Not fun to explore the overworld, so we usually end up exploring the underground and never make progress towards The End.

Maybe, for our next server, load up a few maps, explore them a bit in creative, then pick one that has the best layout?

I guess so, I could always create some maps in single player, poke around a bit, then if they look interesting, either transfer the seed or the map files.

I've already looked into Optifine, that's purely a client mod. It won't work on a server.

Yeah I'm really disappointed too and we're probably not likely to find anything good now except to the North across the water.

10 is not really enough. Don't forget we'll lose several to breakage and the portal requires 9.

So.... I'm loading up the quadrant north of spawn and I've already found another Sea Temple. Also, there's a strange land mass not far past said sea temple that isn't yet fully loaded. The mass has an abnormally straight edge on a map that is able to pick up the 4 wide bridge we built. I'm unlikely to finish loading that part today due to time constraints, however it looks very lush and the straightness could mean that the seed for the world was reset at some point or something. Either way, I think it's promising.

I know they're rare, but I do occasionally see a Brown Sheep. But never a pink one, I couldn't believe it when I first saw it. When AH does that one game again, I hope one of them finds a Pink Sheep and thus automatically wins the game.
