So how is everyone doing?

Alright. I'm presently looking forward to doing a radiator and a thermostat on a Silverado 2500 tomorrow.

I just got back from my first driving lesson and I'm told I did really well. The one area I definitely need improvement is pedal control. I'm hitting the accelerator a bit too hard, so instead of revving to 2,000 RPMS, I'm hitting 3,000 RPMS. Braking naturally falls within this field. Clutch use also falls here as well since I'm learning on a manual.

The fact I'm learning on a sports car may have something to do with this issue. The straight four engine has a redline of 8,000 RPM if I remember correctly, mated to a 6 speed gearbox. Most cars only reach 6,000 RPM before the engine starts to tear itself apart.

I like to think I'm decent at driving, I've yet to hit another car but I have not passes the test yet. Darn you two point turn!

Yes, but there's a lot more room for error on that.

Driver's ed is only good for rules of the road, it offers very little on actually operating a vehicle.

I know, but if I forgot what I learned then what was the point of going?

I took that class 2 or 3 years ago and after a few looking overs of the sparse manual, I passed my permit test and only missed three questions. It's mostly common sense and politeness.

I passed the test before I took drivers ED, just missed one, but it's a requirement to go to drivers ed soooo...
