I've got a problem I need to bitch about [v3]

If you have a scheduling conflict, you need to take the initiative and explain your situation to your boss. If you wait until she assigns you a graveyard shift, then it's going to be worse than if you take the initiative now. But first, you need to define too early and too late for your grandma to come pick you up. That way your boss knows just how early she can get you in and how late she can keep you and vise-visa.

Using my advanced troubleshooting skills backed by several certifications, I can inform you that you do indeed appear to have what is referred to in the industry as A Slight Problem.

Yup, that's a cracked screen. Laptop?? That happened to a laptop I was using. The lid was slightly closed with the mouse still inside, and apparently my younger sister stepped on it or something, so the whole screen cracked. :c
Luckily I was able to get all my stuff off of it, though I will miss that random little game that was on it...I was so far in it (though it was frustratingly difficult at that point and I was still some levels away until the end!)

Eyup, laptop.

I haven't used the desktop in our office in over 16 months...it'd feel way too awkward to get on it instead. Besides...there are things I'd rather my mom not know about...

External monitor then. Another option is an HDMI cable and a TV. That's assuming you have a TV with an HDMI port and a HDMI port on your laptop.

@Truth; An external monitor kinda takes away the whole "portable computer" thing that a laptop should be. And I can't set one on my bed. I'd have to use a...desk. *shudders*
