Erin's slash moved fast, and the bugbear attempted to block, only for it to fail as it took the sword slash.

simple terms:

(Hey, look at that! My cross bow is still equipped, so I don't have to pull it out of my bag!   )

Not the happiest to know that the bugbear dodged her earlier spell, Zena tisked and pulled her cross bow in front of her. Maybe I should start keeping this loaded... she thought as she pulled a quarrel into place.

Aiming carefully, Zena fired at the bugbear.

The bugbear snarled as the arrow hit his shoulder. In a quick movement, it ripped the bolt out and snapped it in two. There would be no salvaging that shot.

Simple terms:

David used his dagger once more, hoping to get better results this time.

The bugbear glared at David as he began to prepare his attack. The dagger's stab didn't seem to faze the beast.

Lief slashed at the bugbear. "Take this, fiend!"

Lief's attack made the bugbear wince in pain, but it then grinned. So many of them had charged so close to him. He raised his Morningstar and swung it sideways, ready to strike at everyone nearby! The blow moved swift, too swift for Lief and Erin to avoid, though the nimble David barely managed to avoid the spiked club.

Erin took in a sharp breath from getting hit by the bugbear. After balancing herself she went in for another attack.

The bugbear let out a vicious howl of pain as Erin's attack came in...and the blade cleanly cut through his side leaving a rather large wound. The bugbear began to take a step back, perhaps this battle was nearly over?

Simple Terms:

Having a shot already loaded, Zena shot again, aiming to penetrate deeper into the wound Erin gave the beast.

I'm going to assume you also loaded it

The bugbear, as he made his way backwards, noticed the in coming shot and rather than letting it hit him, he tried to get out of the way, only for the shot to hit his arm.

Simple Terms:

David gave up on the dagger, as it did nothing, so he pulled out a rapier, decided to use his dexterity for it, and began to attack.

The bugbear let out a horrible scream as the blade pierced its heart. It fell to the ground bleeding, unmoving. The battle was over, and a cool breeze flew through the area. The sound of a crows could be heard. The only question now was, to move on or to stay here?

-insert victory fanfare-

Status:

(So, you beat your first real opponent! You all got EXP, but don't worry, I'll keep track of that so you don't have to. Now back into adventure mode! You guys can move on, following the path, search the body for stuffs, heal each other, use items, take a pee, talk to each other, etc. Also I won't count mounting/dismounting the horse and getting in/out of the wagon as actions so you can do them and other stuffs :T

Lief sheathed his sword and got back onto the horse. "All right. Erin, Zena. Let's get moving," he told the two.

Nothing of interest happened.
