Shout out to the snow storm

Work closed for me and I've been playing so much disgaea

Walmart never closes (and apparently only needs 3 people to have a store open)

But most of the employees left before me, and the managers were saying, "If you were my kids you'd be home already, so just go home"

Lol you guys are all home, safe and sound. And I'm about to venture out onto frozen roads to go to work. Hopefully I can do this without giving myself another concussion.

Work opens late and I gotta either walk or take bus :D

I had a normal work day

which is fiiiiiine

My work day consisted of fighting with Dodges. Doing a transmission replacement in a 2010 Dodge Charger and there's so much locktite on everything. At first my mentor thought I was being a sissy, until he had to get creative to make the bolts come loose. Took two hours just to pull the damn driveshaft, it should've taken 45 minutes.

Because of the delays, we were unable to get that done to today so that'll be finished tomorrow. So my day ended with a 2005ish Dodge Ram 1500 that has resistance power steering leaks and the customer wanted 4 new shocks. They were rusted much more solidly than they appeared. We ended up having to cut the front shocks out. Trying to align the truck afterwards ended up being a huge pain as well trying to free up the adjustment bolts.

I scrubbed rust off of shelves and questions why we need to clean the floor if they're just gonna replace it in a few days

I can explain why. People tend to place such a high standard on appearance. You may know the floor is about to be redone, but the customers may not and last thing you want is one to complain about the floors being dirty.

The actual example I usually run across is that people are much more likely to buy a car with an absolutely flawless body, but blown engine or trans instead of the same vehicle with a bit of rust, but virtually brand new engine or trans for the same price.

I decided to check in on this place this morning and was utterly confused out of my mind for a few minutes, seeing all these new threads, new sections, and new users. Then I realized I had typed “tpos.forumotion.com” and apparently that’s a whole other forum.
