Writing Exercises and Goals!
Hello! I said I'd do this in blogs but as we've already confirmed, I'm a huge liar :V
Each week I'll either come up with a writing exercise/prompt and post it here for us to work on for a week :D
You can post your responses here, or not, up to you, but also feel free to offer advice and stuff so we can improve as that's the main goal :D
Also we will have monthly writing goals! This month the goal is super simple to start us off: 3,100 words in the month of December. That amounts to 100 words a day.
If you don't want to write in microsoft word or notepad, another option which I use is writer.bighugelabs.com
It has a built in word goal thingy and also syncs your writing to an account so you can use it across multiple computers, and even has a full screen mode so you can focus on writing.
Enough of that, this week's exercise is...
As we are just beginning, what better place to start than the beginning? The excersise is to write the first paragraph or two of your story and share them if you want for opinions and stuff :O
Here are two articles that can help give some ideas on how to start: A and B
Have fun and write on dudes!

Re: Writing Exercises and Goals!
Alright, it has been 12 days so time for a progress check! You should all be at 1,200 words at the minimum right now! It doesn't matter if you've fallen behind, you still have more than half the month to go! Me, I'm at a whopping 0 words! -shot-
Aaaaaaanyway, the writing exercise for this week is....
Looking at your characters! Take your main cast and write up a list of three things:
Truths: These are facts about your character, things that are 100% certain about your characters.
Lies: These are not true and might seem silly, but, they also help you know about your character. You might not know what they are in regards to something, but you can actually know what they aren't!
Waitwut?: These are the quirks, the oddities, things that set your character apart from other characters in the world. Do they only eat round food? Do they avoid stepping on cracks? Do they do anything that's just... out there? Probably! I mean look at yourself! You probably do things people would consider odd!
You can make the list as long or as short as you want, but it should help you get a better idea of who your characters are and what makes them tick. Now if you excuse me, I have to write....

Fun things!
You can go make an account on Charahub which is a site that lets you document all of your characters, and will ask you a bunch of questions to help you flesh out your character.
Also have a Character Sheet
These are just some fun things I like to get my brain juices going for this type of thing.
The only eye I see is the one that changes the mode to preview. There's the export button, but I don't think that's what your talking about.

Re: Writing Exercises and Goals!
Okay, so mine didn't have that Icon because they were apparently locked. After I unlocked them then it showed up. Thanks Lief!
Now I'm going to spend 5 years trying to figure out why the text is running off the side of the screen

Re: Writing Exercises and Goals!
I'm meeting the spirit of the goal, if not the technical details of the goal. :V
- Spergin' on the deets:
Lief Eric Katano
> MAIN DEMON: Jack Frost / other Magic-type demons
> WEAPON: Gun
> COMP STYLE: Apple Watch-esque
> WHY HE FIGHTS: Girlfriend is a nurse, so he tries to help her workload how he can (making sure demons don't hurt people)
> ROLE: Ranged DPS
> PERSONALITY: Either hammy or sarcastic, depending on the situation
> NOTABLE HISTORY?: Not really! Just a guy.
Erica Brynhild Katano
> MAIN DEMON: Ishtar / Megami race or other healing-focused demons
> WEAPON: Fusion Katanoa
> COMP STYLE: Looks like an old watch, but has hologram capabilities so she can actually use it as a COMP
> WHY SHE FIGHTS: To keep things safe for her adopted daughter, Hilda
> ROLE: Tank (/ healer via demons)
> PERSONALITY: Hardcore otaku, mother bear. Likes older aesthetics, but also puts her own spin on things (see: COMP).
> NOTABLE HISTORY?: She has a small adopted daughter from about a year before the demon apocalypse (~3 years before the story, so she was adopted ~4 years ago). Besides that, not really. ...I swear these get more interesting.
>> WEAPON FUSION: Her katana is made out of magnetite, letting it function in a manner similar to summoned demons. While normally it takes the form of a steel katana, a demon can also be "summoned" into it, having the katana take on its properties. It's technically not restricted to a katana, but Erica refuses to use anything but, so Sigurd never bothered programming a way to switch weapon type.
Caitlin Clair Claus
> MAIN DEMON: Take-Mikazuchi / Kishin race demons
> WEAPON: Her fist
> COMP STYLE: Flip phone
> WHY SHE FIGHTS: It's literally what she's paid to do (though, unlike most examples, she is actually enthusiastic about doing it to protect people. Maybe a little too enthusiastic. Secret blood knight???)
> ROLE: Melee DPS
> PERSONALITY: Defender of the weak, also maybe secret blood knight
> NOTABLE HISTORY?: Was a police officer since far before the demon apocalypse. As the story begins, she is assigned to the Devil Busters division of her police force, where she basically joins the ranks of those working at the Devil Buster Bar and Grill, though technically still under employ of the police station.
Albert "Axe" Xavier Easton
> MAIN DEMON: Troll
> WEAPON: ...An axe.
> COMP STYLE: A large-ish smart phone. Anything smaller would be hard to use for his large, bulky hands.
> WHY HE FIGHTS: To make up for his days in the gang
> ROLE: Tank
> PERSONALITY: Friendly, if dumb, fellow. Likes eggs a lot. Secretly Egghead from Batman '66??
> NOTABLE HISTORY?: Was once part of a gang that formed in the slums of San Daemon, where the story takes place. He was noted for being kindhearted to all below him, though ruthless to his enemies. The gang was dissolved when the demon apocalypse happened, due to most of the gang being devoured by said demons. Axe and his companion, Blade, only survived due to intervention by Sigurd Kugga, the man who runs the Devil Busters Bar. Feeling in debt to Sigurd, Axe swore to mend his ways and joined the very-fledgling ranks of the Devil Busters.
Benjamin Lazlo "Blade" West
> MAIN DEMON: Cronos
> WEAPON: An armory of blades
> COMP STYLE: Blackberry-type phone
> WHY HE FIGHTS: Not really much else for him to do, also got dragged into it by Axe
> ROLE: Healer, due to Cronos's time manipulation abilities. Also weapon provider to the Devil Busters.
> PERSONALITY: Tsundere. Heavy emphasis on the tsun. Likes JoJo and his sweet collection of blades.
> NOTABLE HISTORY?: Part of the same gang Axe was. Unlike his kind-hearted companion, Blade was far more ruthless, and made sure everyone stayed in line. Like Axe, he was saved from a horrible death by Sigurd, though he joined the Devil Busters ranks far less willingly. Due to Cronos's time manipulation abilities, he's kept under much harsher supervision than any other Devil Buster.
>> CHRONOS'S TIME MANIPULATION: Cronos has two main ways of manipulating the flow of time. The first is on a small scale, reversing any damage done to allies, making it as if their wounds had never happened. The second is on a larger scale, halting time outside of a small bubble around him. This isn't useful for offensive purposes, due to the strictly binary nature of the ability (anything that goes outside of the bubble is stopped, while anything inside the bubble has time flow normally), especially since Cronos is chained to one spot until dismissed. As such, it is often used so Blade and his allies can safely formulate a plan.
Aaron Aaron Lance
> MAIN DEMON: None; constantly varies depending on situation. Closest to consistent is Cu Chulainn.
> WEAPON: A spear; used to pierce enemy physical resistances
> COMP STYLE: Smartphone. Smaller than Axe's.
> WHY HE FIGHTS: Drafted by Sigurd
> ROLE: Tactician/Melee DPS
> PERSONALITY: Reserved and analytical. Somehow friends with Blade; Cronos's Time Stop ability may factor into it. Notable among the Devil Busters for using a variety of demons to fit the situation; known for shouting "The demon to be used on you has been decided!". Why he uses lines from Final Fantasy Unlimited is a mystery.
> NOTABLE HISTORY?: A very successful analyst for nearly everything. His career crashed when the demon apocalypse hit, when everyone was too busy trying to deal with this new, deadly change for fantasy football and betting on sports teams. During this flatline, he was drafted by Sigurd to be the tactician for the fledgling Devil Busters. He is currently bound by contract to keep serving the Busters.
Macy Barbara Norn
> MAIN DEMON: Element race demons; used more often as kitchen assistants than in battle
> WEAPON: Um
> COMP STYLE: Actual computer drive is attached to her glasses, connected by a cable to her projector/hologram-touch-enabler glove. Rule of cool as a COMP.
> WHY SHE FIGHTS: It was her best opportunity to get into the cooking world. Results have varied.
> ROLE: Secondary Tactician / Demon Analyst
> PERSONALITY: No-nonsense while on the job, flirty while off, probably as a coping mechanism. Tries to incorporate French into her sayings without much success.
> NOTABLE HISTORY?: The demon world was connected to the human world even before the demon apocalypse - a fact that Macy learned the traumatic way. While she was born to a wealthy family, Macy was sent to a public school as a way for her parents to flaunt their wealth. In backlash, Macy tried to fall in with a bad crowd. Unfortunately, she was too nice to actually do so, culminating in refusing to assist with a break-in. Her "friends" were attacked by a demon belonging to a student in a similar situation as hers, who expressed his disgust in a different way. That student was the younger brother of Sigurd Kugga, who kept tabs on Macy as she grew. ...That probably sounded too creepy. Either way, the demon apocalypse happened soon after Macy graduated from chef's school, and Sigurd quickly made his approach, offering to hire her as a chef in exchange for having her act as a navigator. Macy initially refused, but job opportunities were hard to find in the immediate aftermath, so she eventually accepted.
Sigurd "Sig" Kugga
> MAIN DEMON: Cerberus / Orthrus
> WEAPON: Cerberus / Orthrus
> COMP STYLE: A wrist computer, in the style of the original COMP from Shin Megami Tensei
> WHY HE FIGHTS: Trying to make up for somewhat causing this whole fucking mess
> ROLE: Head of Operations
> PERSONALITY: Eccentric, but also beats himself up sometimes
> NOTABLE HISTORY?: The guy who started this whole fucking mess. Sort of. His father, Steyr Kugga, was capable of creating viable teleportation technology. Sig's brother - Hal B. Kugga - was quick to take the research and attempt to apply it for his own nefarious ends. He accidentally created a link to the demon world, and was capable of using it for petty reasons, such as taking "revenge" on his classmates. Sig attempted to stop him for a long time, but it wasn't until two years before the story began that he was finally able to act - and this act unleashed the force of demons on the whole world. Feeling responsible for spreading the chaos of demons, Sig began to use what was left of his family's funds to boot up an old bar and recruit those capable of fighting the new threat - those who he dubbed "Devil Busters".

Mido is a swiss watch company Swiss => Swiss Guard From the Wikipedia page for the Swiss Guard "The Swiss Guard uses ... a sword and a halberd, as well as ... the SIG P220 and Glock 19 pistols, the Steyr TMP machine pistol and submachine guns like the Heckler & Koch MP5A3." How about Sig? or maybe a play off of Halberd?
There's also antagonists and stuff but it's sort of Monster of the Week-ish stuff and/or I Have Plans So It Might Be A Spoiler so :V
