Re: Today I Learned [v2]
I learned about water intoxication from that lady in California who died after a water-drinking contest for a new Wii (it was a few years ago, when the Wii was new). For some reason, the story has stuck with me through the years. I guess just because of how shocking it is that drinking water can kill you.

that gameFAQs has a board for mafia games just like any other site, and it's relatively troll free due to it's nature as a mafia games board.

More like was reminded, because I already knew this:
If you search Solar Symphony (and any variation thereof, with - and _ s and all that jazz) there is some company that sells solar panels or something. If you search in the images section, my art starts appearing pretty quickly (and Starfleetrambo's picture she just made for me <3 ). I can only imagine what this company is thinking.

Re: Today I Learned [v2]
More info here for anyone wanting free Master Balls, but basically, if you ask certain trainers with the right class to be your pal, they will have a pick up ability where they will find items for you, including Master Balls. No dea what the odds are for it, but the table in the link shows off which trainers get what ability at what Secret Base Level.

Yesterday was the hottest day in the DC area since the late 1800s. Over 100 degrees.

The Greenland Shark (Somniosus microcephalus) has recently been discovered to be the longest lived vertebrate. These very slow, cold water loving sharks can grow to a maximum of 20-24 feet in length and weigh in between 2,000 to 3,100 lbs. The oldest individual from a recent study was found to be 272-512 years old.

Re: Today I Learned [v2]
Welding is going to be major challenge for me. We started learning Oxyactylene welding today, old school and rarely used nowadays but still interesting to know, also a great way to become comfortable with the "hot wrench" as some mechanics call the torch. Not much heats or cuts quite like 15,000 degree flames and it's extremely helpful in exhaust work.
The thing about Oxy welding is that because it's a slow process you can actually see the metal melt and solidify as you wield the torch. However rather careful control is required to avoid just cutting straight through sheet metal and maintain a steady pool of molten metal, which is key to a good weld.
If I could write better I'd probably be welding better, my very weak "welds" are horrible. On the bright side I'm now much more comfortable with the torch.

You should get a medal for even being able to hold one of those. Sharp knifes scare me, let alone searing heat that can melt metal.
