Anyone know how to make maps? ?

So yeah,  I'm doing a nuzlocke and am doing a bunch of world building for it right now,  and I really want to make a map of how I envision the pokeworld to look like. The thing is,  I don't know anything about cartography...so if anyone knows/has any tips, I'm all ears!

Is this an in-game map, or an artist's rendition of the world?

Kinda both, since there isn't an official PokeWorld map, so I'll be using aspects of the in-game maps and assembling them in the placement I envision them to be.

I honestly can't really suggest any tips, that plan sounds pretty solid, though isn't there an official map that does show most of the regions except for Kalos?

I'm not aware of any. All the maps I've seen were fanmade.

Waaaaay back when I was in school, I used to love map projects and stuff when my grandma assigned geography work and stuff like that for me, but my actual skills at making them wasn't great and I don't remember much about it. Does make me feel nostalgic though.
