Odd. I thought RARs by themselves were a form of data compressing, like ZIP files, but much less accessible. One typically needs a specialized program to unpack them and see their contents. It sounds more like something is hitchhiking on the download, which I wouldn't consider uncommon.

Either way, it pretty much locks in my decision to wait for the official steam version.
