2015 Aspirations

A new year begins soonish so I figured I start this before stuff goes nuts. Basically, here you put goals you have for 2015 so that everyone can push you towards them and nag you to death until they are complete :T

I have only 4 real goals this year:

1) Graduate
2) Get a job (or combination of jobs) which pay enough for me to support myself
3) Get something published
4) Start lping (actually got good progress on this one, just need 3 more pieces of equipment)

My resolutions are to balance my time between online and offline more effectively, and to solve cold fusion, though I'm not confident in the first one. :B

Uh.... Never really thought about it before...

1) Obtaining a driver's license. I've already got most of the basics (really need work on Parking) down, including shifting a manual gearbox, it's just a matter of experience at this point. Having this (along with a good record) is a must just to apply to an entry level position in the field and I expect to have it by mid-year or end of summer.

2) Finishing my present education on automotive systems.

3) Starting education on Medium and Heavy Duty Trucks and Buses. I have a list of possible schools, but apart from expressing interest to the recruiters, I've made no progress on this.

4) By the end of the year maybe I'll get started on training for a Commercial Driver's License. I feel I require this for a good career as a diesel tech as even pickup truck can require a commercial license if they're towing enough weight (read: somewhere around 40,000 lbs).

5) An entry level job in the automotive industry to help pay for schooling and tools.

I know what I want to do, but I'm not quite sure how to say it...

I want to get my drivers license and learn to drive a stick.

become a mod at bulba.

>I want to pass my AP classes and the AP tests.
>Finish my "Shatter Me" project.
>Be awesome in Marching Band, with whatever path I decide to take (Drum Major or Drum Captain)
>Maybe get money?(i.e: a job)????

Top priority is definitely a new computer/laptop. I'm going nuts without good internet access..... It took me forever to go through all the topics on here on my DS (I still have no hope for my Wii and refuse to use it for web browsing/Youtube). I'm hoping my tax retuurn will be enough for something decent so I can be back online full time again.

Other things I'm hoping to accomplish are actually getting my Let's Play channel going (need computer first), hopefully finding another job, maybe getting my liscence to drive, checking a few more things that I've been wanting off of my list (like a 3DS), and......maybe find true love?

.........Nah, I don't think I'm ready for that last bit yet...

If it helps, jokool, I believe that you can do it. You can pull it off!

...although you might want to take that last one a bit slowly.

Also in my opinion it would help to get a license before getting a job.

I second Lief's recommendation, there a number of jobs that can't be applied for without a good driving record and license, auto tech jobs included. I would probably already have a job with Virginia Tire and Auto by now if I was able to meet that one qualification yet.

Welp. That bit is now a definite end of summer thing because I just double checked and in Virginia, if you under 19, you have to show proof of a state approved driver education course. That course, per the VA DMV definition, must include time behind the wheel. I was given such a course in high school, but was not eligible (nor did my family apply for) for Behind the Wheel program that covered the other half of the requirements. I must thus wait until after my birthday before I can get my license. Which in itself isn't a big deal overall, but still.
