*activates an electric rune, creating a lightning barrier around the bubble*

Bubbles intensify
*we shoot into the sky, out of the waves, Lief's electric barrier defeating countless of monsters* Weeee~~!!

*we start to fall* ONEMOMENTIGOTTHIS
*murmurs a long series of spells, hands glowing in a lovely shade of purple*

*we hit the sea before Nanna finishes her spells and are rattled around so violently that even the boat rolls over inside the bubble*

*was stuck to the top of the bubble and as the boat settles on the bottom of the bubble, I fall and am impaled on the mast*

*is tumbled around and catches on fire as the unfinished spells backfire*

ooops

And they said studying the language would be useless! Even though the spell didn't work in time...
