I just had a thought. I have a birth defect that puts my heart down an inch or two and rotated like 45 degrees or something. So would that mean that CPR and defibrillators may not work on me should I experience a heart attack or something else of the sort?

Maybe for defibrillators (don't know what that is), but CPR should work? I'm not a body science major, I'm just operating on what I call "my sense".

Ever seen doctors on TV try to restart someone's heart with those paddles that electrocute the person making them spaz for a bit?

Defibrillators might not work as well, since they require putting the electrodes in positions so the current passes through the heart, cpr on the other hand should be fine since you normally just have to be in the general area and I think the mouth to mouth part is the more important one to do(don't quote me on this)

1st off- I quoted you.

  

2nd- no, getting the heart pumping is the most important part. We've even been told that if you feel squeamish to do the mouth to mouth, that's okay, as long as you do the rest of the CPR until the ambulance arrives/the victim wakes up.
