How does a soft reset happen with just normal button controls?

Someone does it or they press L+R+Start+Select or whatever you press to soft reset on the Game Boy Advance.

Soft reset has thankfully been disabled now.
Also, current consensus among the mob is that our trainer is a serial killer who killed all previous incarnations of us and yet is too shy to talk to Brendan. I approve of this development.

As do I. It also opens a door for Platinum where the summoning of Dialga and Palkia reverse those deaths, should the series ever get there. If they do, then that would explain Red's presence in HGSS, should they ever do those.

Day 1 Update: We still haven't beaten Roxanne, though it seems we may have beaten the trainers in her gym. We caught a Marill and we're training it up. Our Torchic is Level 21 but hasn't evolved. We also have three Poochyena (though only one is in our party), a Nincada, and, miraculously, an Abra. We have almost no money.

Also, correction: Torchic is not nicknamed "ZYYXYY," it's nicknamed "    zyyxyy." :I

Well A is a girl and girls seem to enjoy spending all their money while shopping.

Last time I checked in, they were spending extreme amounts of time in the Pokémon center.
