Re: Supremacy 1914: End of The Great Tea War
- My response to all this:
Yeah it wouldn't last long. Currently trying to find it right now actually.jokool wrote:All of my armies and other military units have been annihilated.....literally every single one of them......
I do have one Battleship remaining, but yeah, it's not going to last long......
While I do have spies, I could see those units long before they took to the water. My battleships were heading west to defend Morocco anyway. Also my railguns softened them up. If you can see me, I can see you.My armies heading to former Morocco were taken out by Truthseeker's battleships that happen to be heading through their pathway..... How the fuck does that keep happening (unless Truth got a spy or something)?except for cases involving balloons
You did trap my railguns there :IMy other units in former France were wiped out by railguns apparently....
Moscow had a Level 5 fortress and I stationed somewhere around 600 troops nearby in the event you would invade. I nearly didn't see your units in time because I was at school. I was also having connectivity issues while trying to load up the game at school. It was a close race, I got into position just a couple of minutes before you came knocking at the door. It was also an agonizingly long fight that's left Moscow in ruins. The one thing I don't get is how 200 to 300 troops can't even take one simple province that barely has any defense??? I mean, seriously, my intel wasn't wrong... There was only about 20 something units in that former Russian province..... How can 20 something men take out around 300?????? I didn't think any of Truthseeker's larger armies could make it over there in time, but maybe I misjudge?
But I wasn't done sadistically playing with you D:Either way, I'm done.... Only one battleship and just a handful of troops that will no doubt get wiped out before they even leave their homes doesn't stand a chance of even making a dent in Truth's military might......
Your forces were badly undersized. You would have increased your chances by not splitting up your units.I am in utter shock that I didn't even manage to take one province in this war..... The number of losses also baffles me. I believe it said Truth had like 80,000 (which surprises me that I managed to kill anyone ) to my 800,000..... 10 times more for me.....
Thank you, but there were a number of factors working into my favor. So yeah, I am done. Finished. End of LP for me. I have lost.
Truth, I want to congratulate you for such an overwhelming victory. I don't know how the fuck you manage to do something like this every time*cough* hax *cough*, but....wow. *non sarcastic *
The first is my strategy of using my machined units in wolf packs to minimize damage to them and maximize my destructive potential.
The second is preparation in the form of Level 5 Fortresses and unit placement. Back in a previous round, I just happened to see someone post in the chat about how they managed to fight off hundreds of units with just 20 some odd men or something like that. I also placed my units where I felt they could quickly respond. I was also building up massive armies out of the range of your bombers.
The third is fighters, which I began building early on. It's a well known fact in the military that bombers tend to suck at defending themselves, especially the early bombers. A single fighter has a massive edge over a bomber. They are also much faster. Hunting in packs helps negate their disadvantage attacking ground units.
The fourth is railways. By decreasing travel time, I can quickly respond to invasions. This allowed a force of around 200 men to defend Morocco from your troops while they were hitting the beaches.
The fifth is that your diversions were so pathetic you really should have just kept the cars all together.
The last is that in Supremacy, it is much easier to defend than attack. My strategy was to mostly wait for you to come to me while I hunkered in my bunkers.
- Day 71 and the opening actions of The Great Tea War:
So I considered jokool breaching my airspace a good reason for war and now it's a struggle to get my units into position to inflict massive casualities.
jokool's navy and his air force are my biggest concern. However there are two things working in my favor. The first is that I have fighters. I have yet to see jokool use a single fighter so he is unlikely to know just how effective they are. For example, my northern fighters have a strength of 24 and only deal 9.1 attack damage to ground units. However in the air my fighters severely out class my bombers with their speed and full strength. My seven bombers only have a 3.5 air attack damage.
Working in favor of me on the sea is how jokool doesn't keep his units together like I do. When 12 battleships cruise together, they are immensely powerful. They even have 14.4 air attack damage.
So in essense, I'm relying on wolf packs.
You can run, but I'm still going to do my best to destroy you all
Now that jokools has ordered his bombers back, I'm moving in to look at what he's got there. It'll also make it difficult for him to launch any strikes because my fighters will shoot his bombers down almost immediately. That is assuming it works that way...
So jokool is moving his tanks south. Not sure where to, but as soon as I have aerial supremacy, he won't be able to surprise me with them. Also my Northern Fleet is currently steaming as fast as they can to get the jump on the British ships.
There seem to be problems. Despite 12 battleships firing upon one of the Britsh battleships, they aren't taking damage.
- Day 72, First Blood:
Wonderful! Although she hasn't sank, I've badly damaged Kokoa Shuzen and also put quite a few dings in Moka Akashiya. While not sinking them is disappointing, I now have the wonderful opporunity to destroy jokool's railguns. If I can take those out while they're still in the water, jokool will find it hard to defend against me. Those tanks are also easy prey.
I've also put dings in Ruby and if San Otonashi continues her present course, then she too will fall under the shells of Anizo Express, Nacht Kuss, and Dunkelheit.
Also worth noting is how jokool is gathering lots of troops in Malaga. That tells me he's going to launch a sizable invasion. However much of my coast is heavily forfitied and once saw in the chat that someone fought off hundreds of infanty units with just a dozen guys.
Oh yeah, I've also badly damaged Mizore Shirayuki. It's a pity that none of the battleships have been sunk, but it's still a sizable blow to his navy. Right now he can't build any more battleships due to his heavily taxed resources and he's also low on goldmark. He can't repair this much damage for long.
*my top intellance offer comes in carrying the latest information my spies have collected*
Excellant, this information has exactly what I wanted, where stuff is going. As I suspected, the tanks are going to Paris. The railguns are heading to Birmingham, but I doubt they'll make it because my bombers are going to pick up more bombs and head out. However more interesting is that I now know where jokool's battleships are going.
*laughs like a madman as news comes in about the fate of Mizore and some of the transports carrying jokool's tanks*
Land units really are such easy pray while they are at sea and being unloaded.
Moka is going to get away, however her sister is not going to be so lucky as my bombers are heading back for another round.
Also starting close to noon tomorrow will be the bombardment of jokool's forces at Paris by my task force of 5 railguns and their escort, the 111st Army.
*is high on victory*
I've destroyed 6 railguns, 4 battleships, seveal dozen tanks, and like two dozen infantry units in just 12 hours
I believe that's enough to safely say that's a huge tactical blunder on jokool's part. He conviently sent it all through and across the channel right as I was chasing his battleships into it. Although I had to let one of the battleships go, I feel it was worth it. I kinda wanna look at his post to see his reaction.
*rethinks that for a couple seconds*
I think I'll just ask him directly. Yeah, I'll do that.
Aw sweet, this must be for destroying all those tanks
Got one for battleships too
And now jokool has launched his invasions. It's actually a three front war. This is the Southern. Presently my Southern battleships are too far away to help, but they will arrive in 13 hours.
The Western. Not shown is a single car attacking Genoa as a pathetic diversion. I think I managed to destroy the 4 bombers stationed here, but I'm not sure. Oddly it shows Moka there. :???:I'm updating the intel with a recon flight now.
jokool's invansion here is rather weak, but if I had not destroyed those tanks, then jokool would be easily overrunning me right now. Already my railway and recuiting office has been damaged. This means my northern railguns are now trapped, however they are still able to fight to the last shell.
Soon the North Sea will be the stage of another battleship duel as jokool's battleships are once again heading East towards the English channel.
And the Northern. This invasion does concern me somewhat as it involves the most troops. The cars don't concern me though.
jokool's stragety isn't too bad as he's trying to divide my forces. If I didn't monitor Supremacy games whenever possible, it would work quite well.
Presently I'm quickly fending off jokool's Western invasion and the Northern invasion is also being fended off quite well.
So jokool still has a bomber left. I'm sending my Northern fighters to destroy it.
I thought those artillery units were stopping in Nancy but instead they seem to be on a mission to damage my railguns. Unfortunately for them, they are not only being fired upon by my railguns, but also being bombed.
Now that the bomber is gone, I'm concertating efforts on jokool's artillery while also gearing up for a possible assault from the North.
*ends the first day of the war with a staggering kill ratio of 428 to 8*

Because the Let's Play actually hasn't ended yet. I'm still duking it out with the AI. I'll laser powered trash compactor[wow]s[/wow] this in 5 days or so.

Re: Supremacy 1914: End of The Great Tea War
- Day 73: Unexpected:
*starts off by analyzing the new data*
This is exactly the information I wanted most right now. jokool has more coal and gas than I thought and he now has enough oil to build another battleship. Now it's a matter of figuring out which factory he will use.
I'm not going to invade just yet, I want to strangle Great Britain first by destroy vital upgrades.
I don't know know what that is, but it must be destroyed.
*has scrambled every aircraft that can reach it*
Now jokool's battleships are here on the scene, so it's time to send them to the bottom.
*parties*
*also got a basic Artillery Badge, a basic Railgun Badge, a basic Bomber Badge, and an award called Infantry Officer*
*is having internet connectivity issues now*
Nice. My fighters have taken damage, but I'll live with it knowing I'm sending more of jokool's battleships to the bottom. To my knowledge he just has four left.
Just one left now.
*gives the order for D37 to go on the offensive*
The war appears to be going quite well. I once again got rid of jokool's battleships with minimum casualities and I'm rapidly leveling his providence upgrades. Right now I'm wary of two things. The first is that one battleship, the one that I spotted earlier, but have not seen since.
The other is the state of Moscow. Nearly everything was destroyed in the battle and morale is quickly falling. I can't allow jokool to get more oil and without a fortress, I can't leave Moscow.
*discovers jokool has thrown in the towel*
So after 36 hours (give or take a few) and 900,000 British causalities to 26,000 German causalities, the war is officially over. Just as it was getting fun too....
- Day 74: No Mercy:
- Day 78: The AI Returns:
Great Britain is now under AI control and in the 12 hours since the takeover, things are doing downhill. My railguns are under attack, one of my battleship task forces (I split up the Northern fleet) is being overwelhemed near Russia by little attackers.
Just lost a railgun because I got careless
My battleships have been spared though.
I forgot to show just how much I've conqured so far. What's slowing me down is the lack of artillery support.
Well I knew that railguns weren't gonna be much help once I got away from the railways... It still sucks that I've lost four of them so far.
Damn, Great Britian still has forces left to counter attack.
*calls off my invasion of Brest to defend my new land*
So I can now can officially end the game. Only I don't want to stop now.
- Day 79: The AI Offensive:
- Day 81: I'm pretty much only recording the biggest of the big stuff now:
Well that's a little sad that I won't be able to earn any points soon. On the plus side I've pretty much unlocked everything now, including the naval pack. What this means is that (theorically) next game, I'll be able to gain an upper hand with cruisers and submarines.
As for the war itself, Great Britain is less than a shadow of its former self. I've cut off coal and gas. This means the blasted remains are living off less than 4,000 tons of oil per day and in another day or two, that'll drop sharply because D142, which is my other group of battleships, is just a day away from bombarding Iceland.
Those battleships have left Ireland in ruins. Over the past few days Ireland has been trying to take back parts of the original Great Britian, but the railguns stop 'em dead.
What still concerns me though is that jokool had one more battleship before he threw in the towel. To my knowledge, I have not found it.
- Day 83: The Final Countdown To The End of an Era:
As you can see, jokool's country is barely hanging on. In two and a half days, it'll be all gone. I've dispatched over 500,000 troops to capture Iceland and back on the European mainland, just one Providence hasn't been blasted to hell and back: Kandalakskaya. As soon as Tornea, Lulea, and Tromsoe fall, those invansion forces will be joining the bulk of the rest of my troops which are already moving in on Kandalakskaya.
- The Conclusion:
*decides to check in on Apirl 21st, suspecting the war is finally over*
And that looks like confirmation that it is. It looks like I got pretty highly decorated too.
It looks even more magnificent than I imagined. Though I'm not sure if I earned 1,204 points or 12,043 points. Either way, I now can use subs and cruisers.
*checks the death tolls*
257,000 to 2,220,000.
GG, the only thing I'm not pleased with is what happened to the last battleship but there's nothing I can do about now :P
*officially ends the Let's Play*

Re: Supremacy 1914: End of The Great Tea War
It would seem that you somehow did manage to get my last battleship. I don't see it anywhere when I check back into the game, and my stats show that I lost 12 battleships.
TBH, I'm kind of annoyed that the AI did better than me.... :P
Anyway, GG. Like I said before our war started, I knew I didn't stand a chance, but I still had fun during this LP!
Congratulations Truthseeker!

Re: Supremacy 1914: End of The Great Tea War
Part of the reason the AI did better was because I pretty much abandoned caution and just went for it.
