K1 did something miraculous, it dove out of the way of Lief's attack and stood up, amazed to see it was unharmed. K6 saw just how much destruction Erin was causing, K6 sent a stone flying towards her, only for that shield to block again. Seeing the shield raised, K4 tried to stab through it, only to be blocked by the armor.

"Erin, duck," Zena called as she aimed and fired at Kobold 4.


(...if I can do that. I like to think I can...)

As Zena took aim, the unthinkable happened, her hand slipped. The bolt shot out of the crossbow, and went into her own arm. K7 sent a stone flying into the battle, and his stone barely missed Erin's face.

Here is how I do ranged attacks: You can shoot past allies/enemies but that puts them at risk incase you get a critical failure. Getting a critical failure will cause a misfire which can either hurt you, or an ally between you and your target. In this case, Zena rolled a 1 so there was a misfire, hurting herself, it could have also hurt Erin, but the dice ruled Zena shot herself :T

David moved over to kobloid 9 and began to attack once more with his rapier.

K9 saw the attack coming, and blocked with his dagger, smile on his face. K1 slashed at Erin, failing to damage her. K3 swooped in only to miss as well. K5 tried to help as well, only for his bad luck to continue. K9 then attempted to counter David's attack, only for the nimble man to avoid his blade.

With the same intention as before, Greece took another stab at Kobold #3.

also I'll be changing the battle system a bit after this so battles like this don't carry on for too long

Lief turned to face Zena. Somehow she managed to shoot herself with her crossbow. The kobolds might realize her weakness and try to attack her...though, Lief thought, it was far more likely that they'd continue to uselessly attack him and Erin. One of them attacked David, he realized, but the attacks were useless due to his nimbleness. Seeing as how the kobolds were having a lucky streak - or perhaps they were having an unlucky streak - he thought it would be useful to try and help Zena anyway.

"Lay on Hands!" Lief muttered, putting his right hand over Zena's wound.

i have no idea what I need to do in order to actually invoke lay on hands

All you gotta do to invoke it is mention that you want to use it and put a hand on the target but I like the idea of people shouting their attacks but you get to decide if you actually shout it or not :P

As Zena's wound healed, the arrow popped back out leaving the wounded area good as new. The kobolds noticed that healing and K6 sent a stone flying at him, and in his panic over shot it, hitting a tree far off in the distance instead. K4, who had attempted to slash at Lief, also missed entirely.

Zena nervously laughed. "Heh, thanks...um, I don't know what quite happened there..." Zena blushed with embarrassment as she remembered her slip up.
"I've got to do better," she muttered to herself, loading and aiming at kobold 5.

Zena's aim was actually good this time as the arrow narrowly missed Erin's head, caught K4 off guard as the arrow missed him, and flew into k5's leg. K7 upon seeing his friend attacked, sent a rock towards Zena, only for it to miss.

The kobold ducked out of the way of the attack, letting out an eep as the others took action. They made a lot of strange growls and roar like words which were definitely not Lingua. K1 did something strange, he put away his dagger and fired his sling at Zena, just missing her. K3 then turned and ran towards the cave, making it to the entrance. K5 attacked Erin in order to cover for his comrade, even though his move missed, it was at least enough to slow her down. Not wanting to give David any slack, K9 attacked, only to miss.

why did the Kobold I was about to kill have to flee ;__;

"Guys, the Kobold that just fled is going to get reinforcements!"

Erin grabs her sword with two hands and goes in for an attack on Kobold #4

I don't know if that's how I activate my special or not

K4 raised his dagger to block the attack, but the blow was too much for him as his dagger shattered and the blade struck him, knocking him out.
