Interesting, here the images stay still, but on Bulba they move. Otherwise it looks the same.

Re: General Chat! V4.0
So after a trip to Universal Technical Institute, one of the most respected schools for turning out mechanics (evidenced by a few exclusive partnerships, such as NASCAR, and how much various manufactures have invested in UTI's programs), I have renewed interest in a higher level of education.
It's really hard to turn down the prospect of playing with a fully functional, heavy duty diesel engine mounted outside of a truck. I wasn't the only one amazed by their size (they are around 5 feet tall and at least 6 feet long, not including the transmission), in fact some of the kids who probably have scoffed diesel powered vehicles in the past now want to take UTI's diesel program.
Also something I found really interesting, the charter bus we got had a speedometer that goes up to 80 mph (by law they really shouldn't be exceeding 60 mph but we were often doing 75 mph in 55 mph zones), but can reach that speed without flooring the pedal and climb fairly steep hills without losing much speed.

Re: General Chat! V4.0
I'm only halfway done with Professor Layton and the Miracle Mask and I've already played 9 hours. (that's 4 more hours then the average amount it takes me to beat one of the first four games 100% plus Layton's challenges and weekly puzzles)
that proves MM is the longest yet... until Azran Legacy came out in Europe and japan last week that is (but I can't have it till February 25th of 2014 )

Re: General Chat! V4.0
I PASSED MY STUDENT ASE TEST AND ONLY MISSED 6 QUESTIONS OUT OF 40
Because I did pretty well, I've been recommended to take the real deal despite not having the experience (you need 2 years, taking two years of schooling counts as 1 year and the other would have to come from working in a real shop) to actually get the certificate. However just one test is going to run me $62, half of that is registration for the testing window (which ends Nov 30), the other is the test (if I pass it's valid for 5 years). So I'm leaning towards taking it in January when we're wrapping up Steering and Suspension so I can pay $93 then instead of another payment of $62
I only needed to get 21 right to pass but let's not dwell on that

Re: General Chat! V4.0
It stands for Automotive Service Excellence and while a student certification doesn't have the same quantity of respect the real deal has, having a certification and not having one is like the difference between a college grad and a high school grad. You get better pay (which is already really good to begin with because a lot of people don't know how to take care of their car properly; whenever we do a sample repair order, we use $100 per hour for the labor calculations), more respect as there are many mechanics who don't seek ASE certification, increased likelihood of being hired than if you didn't have any certifications (even if you are very experienced), and the right to wear a patch on your shoulder as a form of bragging rights.Mituna Captor wrote:I don't know what ASE stands for, but congrats TS!
