Re: General Chat! V4.0
Just listened to The Protomen Act 2: The Father of Death(while reading the lyrics and write ins) and yeah, it is very well made, and I can see why people think so highly of them, though I still prefer the Megas version of Megaman Lore :P

Re: General Chat! V4.0
Congratulations Lima!
- I'm curious of what you guys think of the two options I currently have for my life after high school:
As I am currently enrolled in a two year program at Monroe Tech, I will be spending next year as a post-graduate while I complete the program. Most likely I'll be spending my empty schedule with a part time job at an automotive service shop since by the end of this school year I will know how to repair much of a car (with the exception of Engines and Transmissions, and perhaps another system or two like Air Conditioning).
However that's not the major choice I'm facing, it's what do I do after the next school year ends. At that point I'll be able to work on just about anything in a car, but the question is should I go higher?
I've been looking at a university up in Ohio (University of Northwestern Ohio, specially their College of Applied Technologies) for training in trucks, plus training for a Class A Commercial Driver's License. With the correct endorsements and the training on servicing large vehicles, I would able to work on just about anything on the road.
However the catch for that is that I'll be in a heap of debt. Around $22,000 just for the education and thousands more for tools (having your own set of tools is usually a condition of employment in most shops).
My other choice is to head right into the workforce. A particularly appealing possibility in that path is self-employment.
One of my life's dreams is owning a school bus and I recently got some inspiration and come up with the idea I could purchase a school bus (I've heard of them selling for $3,000 or less, though most of the listings I've seen are in the $20,000 to $30,000 range) and rip most of the seats out of the bus to make room for portable equipment. All I really need then is a set of tools, a tool for checking the computer of a car, a floor jack or two, a couple of jack stand (at least 4), an air compressor (I could potentially tap into the bus's air brakes) and access to repair info. Once I have that, I can then be a mechanic who goes to the car instead having the car come to me (though once I get far enough along, I'll get an actual lift so I can do more intensive and complex repairs that I can't do in the field).
So I can either enter a school to further my education in the field of automotive servicing or dive right into a job in the workforce, possibly a self-employed one. Thoughts about which should I choose?

I would have thought for sure you'd get Y... Is there anyone else here who currently has or is planning on getting it?
Nope, sorry, I can't help. All that stuff gives me a headache.Truthseeker4449 wrote:Congratulations Lima!

- My opinion, which you should probably ignore because I suck at giving advice on things...:
- It's always good to follow your dreams, but it may be a more risky option than going to college. True, you'd be in debt, but you'd also have a very good shot at a career that you can easily live on and work with.
However, since you have a well thought out plan for your dreams, I feel like you could go far with them if you do choose to follow them.
In the end, it's all up to you in deciding what's best for you.

Hello. It's been a while. I'm sorry I can't log more in here, but this place goes too fast for me to keep up right when I have all the school stuff. I hope you are all well.

Nice to see you again, Zexy.
So it kinda comes down to which is cheaper, the bus (and by extension the modifications needed to make it legal under Virginia law, which means a new paint job and covers for the warning lights) or the education
Either way I'm still spending close to $100 for a Virginia Commercial Driver's License since the bus (unless it weighed under 26,000 pounds, most full sized buses weigh in at 33,000 pounds) would be considered a commercial vehicle if I used it to make a living.

Re: General Chat! V4.0
- I am not that good in advice either, but I'll try to help you out:
- I think you should choose depending on what you would want to do the most right now. If you feel the urge of going straight into the workforce from this age, you should try the bus idea. If you are still thinking of going further with your education, take.that path. Both roads are risky. It will be up to your likings.

Re: General Chat! V4.0
Can I ask you guys a favor? I need someone to help me make sure my Bulba signature looks like it should to other people, the code was really complicated and fidgety and I wanted to check. :I
Here's how it should look (it has one of the Gen VI Pokémon in it, so if anyone's still avoiding those, best not to look):
And for convenience, here's a place I've posted.
