Hrm.. sort of, really it just comes down to what you're driving. Most cars have most of their weight up front and so have better traction than a truck, where most of the weight is up front again. Now if you load the bed with a dozen cinder blocks, then you just shifted the center of gravity and the rear tires aren't as likely to break loose. Now if you really heavily load the rear of the vehicle (like hooking too big of a trailer), then the center of gravity is so far back that the front wheels can lose traction.
