If I'll have trouble with my driving lesson because it'll be my first time driving when it's dark and when it's raining.

I also wonder if we'll be hit with the hurricane.

My advice is be gentle on the throttle, I was spinning my wheels several times earlier today from doing off-the-line starts typical of my area. Now this might only be an issue if you're driving a truck with no weight in the back but it doesn't hurt to be wary. Winter is going to suck for me... especially since rear-wheel drive vehicles have a tendency to swing the back ends out.

Also be very wary of two-lane roads, my experience with that is that you will be blinded by oncoming traffic (even when they are using low-beans) and even on normal roads the glare of traffic lights can (and most likely will) obscure the pavement lines and you can drift as a result.

I'm pretty sure they taught is that if it's raining it's better to go slow that why you don'y hydroplane. I honestly don't know that car we'll be driving (state requires that I take 3 lessons from a driving, I didn't really specify that). I think it's going to be smaller than a truck, but I don't know for sure.

Even in shotgun I still get blinded by oncoming traffic, so I'll be sure to take care if we go on any two-lanes.

Weight and its distribution is usually going to be be more important than the size of the vehicle (quality of the tires is also huge factor), and yes slowing down, particularly for curves is good practice, keep in mind though of the speed of traffic. If traffic is doing a speed limit of 55 mph, then you shouldn't be going really any slower than 45 unless you think that the vehicle can't handle it, which in case you should ask yourself is it really safe for you to be driving.
