For the tunic, it's likely that it's his pre-"well shit I have to save the world"wear (like in Wind Waker, Spirit Tracks, Skyward Sword...). After all, Link's getup is iconic. No way they're ditching it.

And for the technostuff, at least he's not doing something stupid like pulling out a gun. No, this is classy. With technoarrows and stuff. (Plus, we did have trains in Spirit Tracks...)

that's more of a personal thing than giving spirit tracks grief for having a train while hourglass has the more advanced steamboat.

not to mention that various forms of technology appeared in link's awakeining and the oracle games (the crane gane that strted the trading sidequest in link's awaking for example

Apparently Pac Man...is in Smash Bros. Yes, that Pac Man.

I...what. Just...what.

I can't believe you, Nintendo. Really. Pac Man.

On to actual criticisms I can muster up, what I'm assuming is Pac Man's Final Smash is really shitty looking. When I wake up, God, please let this all be a dream or a joke or something.

This seems cool to me.

And, looking over the current character list, I think most of (if not all of) the iconic video game characters are now in this game.

Well namco helped nintendo develop a lot of games so this is a huge thank you to them, also the moves look interesting. Like with Pokemon, you aren't expected to like every character, but there is one for each type of person
