Re: The Galactic Arcade [v5]
So the new SMITE Adventure is now live (kart racing I mentioned the other day), and it's okay, but it is so broken that it's not even funny.
I don't know if it's because of server issues, or if it's just the game mode, but I've seen multiple times now where your final position doesn't matter because you're more than likely going to get a random final position... Literally, I saw someone come in dead last (as did everyone else), and they finished 4th...
Fortunately, this game is really just pointless, and positions really don't mean much to me. I'm currently just grinding away to get the bonus rewards you can earn from playing when you buy the bundle.

And they just released a hotfix patch to correct the placement bug.

Re: The Galactic Arcade [v5]
This is more interesting that I thought it be and just because Dishonored is a stealth game, though stealth is completely optional, I'll be comparing Shadwen to Dishonored.
First, simple non-spoilerly background on the two main characters. Lilly is the name of the adorable little girl. Shadwen is the adult assassin who doesn't really want Lilly to follow her. Like Dishonored, you can elect to play the game lethally or non-lethally, so far the biggest change that I've noticed is the interactions between Lilly and Shadwen.
Unlike Dishonored, stealth is mandatory. There is no combat aside from Shadwen thrusting a blade into someone's back. There's no non-lethal take down either. You either sneak past or kill silently. From there, you still get rid of the body if so desired. Shadwen is also not supernatural, though she jumps amazingly high.
That said, one core mechanic of the game is that time stands still when you do, unless you press the right bumper.I'm using a controller. You can also rewind time, yes rewind it with the other bumper. So there is not a true game over screen, it just tells you why you cannot progress, i.e. spotted by a guard, and prompts you to rewind time.
It's a little annoying to have to hold down the bumper often inbetween quick movements. Like when trying to grapple onto something after moving up to it. Or moving briefly into cover while waiting for a guard to move just a little bit. I'd prefer it if I could freeze time by holding the bumper, but still the feature is much appreciated. It's much more convenient than a heavy mana drain and 1.5 seconds to do what I can. Which is usually just barely enough time to choke someone out and get out of sight.
Shadwen also gives Shadwen and Lilly plenty of hiding spots. Standing in a bush or haystack will conceal you, even when the guards are standing right there staring at the stack. Lilly will generally advance from cover to cover whenever possible and her movement has been prompting me to move on occasions where I would've stayed motionless for another few seconds. Though I have to stay stealthed or they'll hear my footsteps. Although Lilly stays crouched most of the time, she can walk right next to guards unstealthed, though that may largely a glitch.
All in all, this is fun strategizing how to sneak around.

Like Dishonored, you can elect to play the game lethally or non-lethally, so far the biggest change that I've noticed is the interactions between Lilly and Shadwen.
- For Example, in the second chapter where the two actually meet:
Lilly is being bullied by a guard who found her eating an apple that fell from a tree. Shadwen happens upon the scene and has two options, distract the guard or kill him.
Of course the conversation afterwards between the two is much darker if you do kill him and the reason Lilly follows Shadwen becomes more so that Lilly doesn't rat on Shadwen's presence and Shadwen being reluctant to silence her outright instead of Lilly viewing Shadwen as a mother (Lilly seems to be a homeless orphan) and tagging along despite Shadwen's wishes.

Re: The Galactic Arcade [v5]
I'll go ahead and post this here since I don't think anyone took me seriously the other day when I posted it in Random Ramblings:
I'm getting tired of checking Vizzed to see if there's any new games on the market (it's been inactive for months now), and I just want to spend what I have and be done with it. I may look through what's on there again later, but for now, I'm mainly interested in a couple of the Warhammer 40,000 games they still have on there.
My question is, which one should I get? There's 3 to choose from: Dawn of War 1 GotY Edition, Dawn of War 2, and Dawn of War 2: Retribution. There's also Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine, but I was mainly interested in the RTS games, but of note, I do have enough for it, along with one of the DoW games.

Re: The Galactic Arcade [v5]
I'd suggest one, but I have, perhaps unsurprisingly, never heard of any of these titles.

Honestly, I think the only one who may have any clue to them on here is ROMCH.

*looks over similar games we both have*
Well, some options we have are OJ, Paladins, Skullgirls, or Rocket League?
I'd also throw in Pokémon, but I'm still not that far into Moon yet...

Re: The Galactic Arcade [v5]
You know, I've been getting in a Skullgirls mood lately, so how about best of 5 matches?
I'll have to redownload Skullgirls sometime today or tomorrow before we begin, and I work until 2 tomorrow, so hope that won't be a problem.

Update: Decided to go with the first one, and also noticed another rts game that looked good: Company of Heroes. They had the complete edition of that, so I grabbed that as well. What was left went to some cheap visual novels, and now I'm broke Vizzed-wise.
