And as for the sludge metal, I don't really follow sludge metal, so I will ignore that part of the conversation so that I can make this whole shebang all about me. Huzzah for egotism! Praise feathers!

Is that all the Converge you've listened to? Dude! They're just incredible, in my opinion. I think they're the closest thing I've found to Gojira (probably my favorite metal band), in that they're all really talented musicians, but rather than noodle around for no reason and wank on their instruments like "I can play even faster than this, baby, oooh", they combine their musical chops with really good song-writing in order to create music that captures this feeling of sheer despair and raw fury like no other band quite manages to do. I'm surprised you haven't listened to Jane Doe, it's pretty much their magnum opus.

To be honest, I'm not feeling the whole "sheer despair and raw fury" kinda music right now, so I think I'll pass on them for a bit, but I'll definitely give Jane Doe a listen when college application comes around :B

I think the reason I like it better is because I can bypass the whole "22 years in the making after the greatest album ever" thing entirely, because I listened to them one-after-the-other (m b v came out sometime around when I listened to Loveless for the first time).

I'm not into vaporwave yet :I Honestly, I've found so many great albums over the past year and a half, it's difficult to relate it all. Would you prefer a chronological soliloquy on my actions throughout the year in relation to the music I listened to, or just a straight-up list of the main albums of interest and why I liked them? :B
