Forgot to mention that after 50 the levels get easier again until 70 I assume. Difficulty spikes are only on prize levels

Mega Speed ups

Pretty sure it makes it easier to activate Mega Evolutions

That's a Mega Speedup, rewarded for doing some stuff. The more you pump into your Megas, the less matches you need to Mega Evolve them.
