I found that out too.

why does EVERYONE except hardcore fans hate mystery dungeon gates to infinity? I found just as good as mystery dungeon 1, which got good scores, but the equally similar mystery dungeon 3 (or 4 in japan) got bad scores across the board.
I think a lot more fans liked it than critics if I recall, but still.

My personal reasoning includes the story progressing rather quickly, not being able to use Pokémon you recruit unless you go out of your way to ignore the story (which isn't my style), and there being approximately jack shit to do after you beat the game.

Also not all of the Pokémon available at the time were available in the game.

You do realize that Red and Blue(the main series, not PMD) had only 1 post-game event right? I'd be grateful that we even got a post-game story to begin with.

Again, I can understand, but like all gen V spin-offs they wanted it to be (for the most part) exclusively Unova to show off the new 'mon.

if I saw this before yesterday I would have, but I gave it to my friend, but she can get it if she buys trading card game or puzzle league on GBC virtual console. sorry. now I feel bad.

I have yet to get Gates to Infinity, but I think after Explorers of Darkness/Time/Sky, it would be a bit of a let down. Those games were so amazing. The feels man.

I never said I liked them. Infinity's postgame was also a letdown because the Explorers games had a decently-sized post-game. Explorers was also my first PMD game.

TVtropes says that explorers is a tough act to follow in the YMMV page for the sub-series as a whole, which I can agree with.
also nanna, neither player nor partner can be female(except in japan, which your partner can), and in some languages(like english), is male due to lacking gender-neutral pronouns.
