Is it meant to be compatible with the previous generation of 3DS charger?

Is this translating into a slightly reduced price?

WELL

The new 3DS XL (which is the only new 3DS type that they confirmed is coming to America) costs the same as the standard 3DS XL. Since they've added quite a fair amount of things to it - including advanced tech (enough to let Smash 3D run Miiverse, something impossible on a regular 3DS, as well as speeding up loading times rather significantly), an amiibo sensor, and a C-Stick - it's safe to say that there's some reduction in price.

So how much is a new charger?

It'll run you ~$10 if you buy from Nintendo's website.

So, I'm doing my Animal Crossing LP. Great.

The shoulder buttons, which I take screenshots with, stop working. Oh noes!

I flounder around for awhile, trying to find the right combination of finger positioning and pressure for it to work. No go.

I looked it up with the Googles. Found a Reddit thread.

Seriously? Wow, I wonder if that would work on my DS (and every other handheld I own with shoulder buttons.....)?

...Not that I've needed them much lately (mainly plays Pokémon).

It's probably to do with dust or residue or whatever getting into the system. I mean, the gaps for material to seep into the system around the shoulder buttons are relatively big on a 3DS (and probably other systems). And I'd be willing to bet most people grip their handhelds around the shoulders, even if they don't press those buttons as often.

Its actually because Nintendo Handhelds use love to auto repair themselves

NerdCubed has a Humble store on his website now. He doesn't make any money off it (game company still gets 75% of sales, 10% to Humble, and 15% to charities), but he will only lists games that he recommends. Definitely worth checking out and keeping an eye on.
