You are happy that your friend is alive but his sad about her death.

Wouldn't you just be happy?

There are some injuries that never heal. Think about it.

...you're talking about an injury that was caused because someone died. Said person came back to life.

And you fail to understand that even if the person (in this case a snake) comes back to life, the other person still has the mental injuries and emotional scars of not only witnessing that friend's death (which in this case was rather barbaric and cruel), but also having the knowledge that they couldn't stop their friend's death.
